Dave Thompson's Scouting Report:
LaMarr Woodley possesses a great combination of quickness and strength with the versatility to play defensive end or outside linebacker. He is solid at 270 lbs. and can lay the "big hit" to the ball carrier yet displays enough speed to run down opposing quarterbacks. Although he doesn't have blazing speed, his closing speed is deceptive in pursuit of the ball. Woodley is an impact player on the field as a pass rusher recording 12 sacks and 15.5 tackles for a loss his as a senior. He shows solid hand technique at the point of attack to shed blockers and locate the ball carrier. Woodley is clearly a "tweener" and will most likely find himself playing linebacker at the next level. His best fit in the NFL would be a 3-4 defense as an outside linebacker an occasionally line up at defensive end. Woodley has all the intangibles to excel in 3-4 scheme as a pass rusher and get the job done against the run. He will be a first day selection, probably a mid-to-late first round pick.

i like woodley too, but with the potential of moving to a 4-3 in the next couple of years you don't want to stock up to much on players that would best fit in the 3-4 scheme

Tomlin and Colbert are going to have their work cut out for them, theres a lot of talent between OLB's and DE's.
