draft potential anyway. . .Could happen. Take Wallace or roll the dice with Blackmon with average speed. Wallace on turf, look out. Wallace has earned a payday but he is not a top 5 talent - yet.

I'd love to have the Rams pick but that'll never happen. There's no way they trade down all the way to 24, Wallace is good but he's not THAT good. Even if they wheeled and dealed they'd be foolish to trade down that far. As it is they can end up with potentially 3 more picks in the first couple rounds from teams with more ammo than the Steelers.
Even if Wallace doesn't want to sign a long term deal he's better off signing his 1 yr. deal and then hitting the market next year when he has more leverage. It's a risk though because if he gets hurt he could get even less than what the Steelers will offer.
wallace will want holmes money, stevie johnson money is irrelevant
Just shows you how good WR's are valued in today's game. He's not overly glamouress in the passing game but is the main focus. Similar to Mike Wallace from the FO standpoint.
Thanks RDS. The Steeler Way is to build through the draft and not overpay for Free Agents. That's how the team has consistently been among the top contenders.
If Wallace had signed a long term deal first then I'd say that his deal will influence what Johnson got. No way Wallace gets Santonio type money this time around.
