Ike is taking too much blame for this. The entire game plan was structured around stopping the run and daring him to pass.
If you want to blame anyone, blame Tomlin and Lebeau.
By the way, you can add Ben. Terrible performance in the first SB.
LeBeau surely doesn't get a pass, but you absolutely can blame Ike. Gearing up to stop the run doesn't mean Ike doesn't have a job to do. Ike belongs on the list. I'd say Ben in '05 too, but he won. I think the list is meant for losing efforts.Quote:

Mckyer had an Ike like performance giving up two 43 yard bombs from Stan Humphries. Very dissapointing with that otherwise dominant defense in the mid 90's.
Ike has to be top 3, IMO.
Don't know how you could dismiss the defense's performance from SB XLV either...
I think BA deserves honarable mention for XLV. It was his choice not to attack Woodsons replacement, which worked well.Quote:
