Announcers said what it was last night. He got a puck shot at his ankle.

"He's just sore," Bylsma said. "Bumps and bruises. A lot of hockey."
He'll be back tomorrow. That's all we need to know.

Capitals won tonight, but their goalie situation over there is not exactly ideal. Neither Vokoun or Neuvirth have looked promising at all so far. I think we have a chance to put up a lot of goals against them on Thursday.
Maybe not...
I thought he would for sure be back tonight.Quote:
Evgeni Malkin will likely miss his second consecutive game with a lower-body injury, but coach Dan Bylsma doesn't expect the ailment to be a long-term issue.
The Pittsburgh Penguins were without their star in a shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday, and that will be the case for Tuesday night's home opener against the Florida Panthers (7:30 p.m., Versus).
Malkin was injured Saturday night in a game against the Calgary Flames. He had surgery in February after tearing ligaments in his right knee, but the team said his current injury is unrelated.
No Malkin
No Crosby
No Orpik
Wow home opener!

Who makes the NHL schedule anyway, how is it our 4th game and there 2nd!
2-0 I'm liking it.
Great save by Flower, and the second goal was sweet :) but we shouldn't have let them score so soon. :(
Tanger leads the league in points. :)
Pens are 15/13 on the PK.. :OA02:
3-1 US
Imagine if they played like this all season long.
