I think Brown is the speed cover corner with great leaping ability & hands. Gilbert would have great chemistry with Pouncey and I liked him.

I like it, but I am going to hold out hope that some teams in front of us reach and a quality player falls into our lap.
Mock drafts are like noses; everyone has one. Some of the weirdest things I have seen is Pouncey going to St. Louis in second. I saw one where Wilkerson fell to us. I saw another one where Heyward was snatched before 31.
BPA on D line, O line or CB could play out to be Heyward.

I saw Chimdi Chekwa play a bit and he always seemed to be around the ball. He seems to be rated about the same as Burton or Brown. Anyone able to compare these guys and have a preference. I haven't seen too many folks in here mention his name.
Great stuff Ktrain, I love your mocks. I featured it on the blog and will put it up on the HP tonight.
Nice KTrain!! Love the Gilbert pick!!

THE LAST POSITION I WOULD WASTE A PICK ON IS RB IF YOUR LINE IS GOOD ANYONE CAN RUSH FOR 1000+ BARRY FOSTER IS THE EXAMPLE SHOOT IF WE HAD THE THE LINE WITH FANECA AND COMPANY MENDENHALL WOULD HAVE HIT 2000 THIS SEASON ITS ABOUT THE LINE NOT THE BACK

otherwise a solid mock ktrain better than mine
moore is over the hill, dwyer is a ??? and redman is unspectacular.
noel devine would be a third down back and a return specialist with electric capabilities and someone i would be comfortable with sharing carries if mendenhall was out for an extended time.
RB is a bigger need than you might think....dwyer is key in this convesation
Probably no scrapped that this mock is the best Steelers mock that I have seen......Really can't argue with any of the picks or players......I said back in Feb. that Brown was the best corner coming out of Texas......Nice to see somebody else agree with me......:yellowthumb:
Redman is a workhorse. He needs more carries. Practically every time he's touched the ball he's been running over 2-3 guys. I don't see how you think he's 'unspectacular.'
Dwyer is key but he isn't going to see the field with Mewelde Moore on the roster. There's no room to be keeping that many RBs so unless Moore is gone, we're not drafting another one.

I'm not for drafting another DE in the first round. He'll be rotting on the bench for a long time imho. Keisel still has 3 years left in him after the season he had and Tomlin is set on Ziggy being the long term replacement on Smith.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Brandon Harris/Jimmy Smith and Ras-I (trade up in the 2nd, because he'll be gone way before 63) combo in the first and second round ala Timmons and Woodley. Possibily later converting one to safety down the road.
with smiths arms in shambles, keisel having weak calves, and the continual need for a fresh rotaion on the dline playing a scheme that takes ends multiple years to master i cant think of an argument for not taking heyward if hes there....it would be like passing on a richard seymour, you dont see these type of players come around every day.
Heyward is a better 5 tech today than hood will be tomorrow even if hood plays as good as he did the last 5 games of the year. Hes perfectly built for the LDE spot in our defense and hood is MUCH more adept to playing on the right where keisel plays because they can generate more pressure without blowing their assignment and getting raped (as we saw hood do so much last year)
Id be down for a timmons/woodley like scenerio drafting aaron williams and curtis brown/ras-i
i like brandon harris, hes a baller but im not sure hes a good fit. and i dont think the steelers would make a move for jimmy smith at this point, i wouldnt be surprised if he was removed from their board completely.
redman is an ok option for short yardage and passes out of the flats....i really dont see him bulldozing everything in sight like some people claim....he can rumble but hes not exactly a world beater
