Is Major League Baseball ready for a maverick owner?

Mark Cuban hopes so.
According to a report in the Chicago Tribune, the owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks has officially submitted a bid to buy the Chicago Cubs.

No details of his bid are available, but it is suggested his unpredictability and outspokeness would weigh against him.

Several local groups are in the running and it's thought that local ownership would carry a little extra clout.
