The Associated Press reports California Rep. Tom Lantos sent a letter to NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl) commissioner Roger Goodell which urged him to "act swiftly and forcefully" if Atlanta Falcons (http://www.kffl.com/team/7/nfl) QB Michael Vick (http://www.kffl.com/player/96/nfl) was involved in dog fighting on his former property. Lantos pointed out that he's a senior member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which held highly publicized hearings on the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports two years ago. Lantos raised the prospect of government intervention if the NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl) does not discipline Vick. "As evidence of Mr. Vick's involvement mounts, I implore you to act swiftly and forcefully. Your strong rebuke of dog fighting and those who promote it will send the message that this all-too-prevalent practice has no place in a civilized society," Lantos wrote. He added, "I also suggest you educate your players on the illegality and cruelty of dog fighting to prevent this from happening again. It is my hope that the issue of animal fighting will not require us to further investigate the behavior of your athletes."

He's calling Goodell out.....I hope Vick gets a big time suspension over this.

I'm sure that there isn't a huge problem of Dog fighting through out the NFL players. This should be dealt with locally.
