SD I think goes WR here, they have nobody reliable to catch the ball besides Gates

Craig Davis , WR to the Chargers and Greg Olsen TE was already seen wearing a Bears cap. Hmmm.

HUGE reach. Very surprising.

DIESELMAN
04-28-2007, 06:01 PM
6-1 220lbs. 4.40-40

Given name is Craig, but goes by "Buster". Davis was a tall, lanky receiver who really bulked up as a senior and had his best season as a college player. At times this season he outperformed his more highly touted teammate, Dwayne Bowe. Davis has good size and exceptional speed and athleticism for the WR position. He runs outstanding routes and has very good hands. Like most LSU wideouts, he is an above-average blocker and is willing to do the dirty work to help his teammates. Davis can beat press coverage with his speed, quickness, and a variety of fakes and jukes. He's a legitimate deep threat and works the sidelines very well. Davis also started returning punts as a senior and took his very first one 77 yards for a TD. While his teammates (Bowe and Doucet) excel in specific areas, Davis is more of a jack-of-all-trades. He doesn't stand out in any one particular area, but he has the versatility to be a deep threat, an underneath receiver, a ball-carrier on the reverse, and a blocker.

kgreen

HUGE reach. Very surprising.

And when Steve Smith and Jared are still on the board.

BlitzburghRockCity
04-28-2007, 06:03 PM
With Smith & Jarrett on the board we could conceivably go WR in round 2, you never know....

Koopa
04-28-2007, 06:03 PM
i officially love keyshawn, he was ****ing mel up, mel kept trying to say jarrett wouldn't get faster staying another year, and keyshawn was getting pissed and saying speed don't matter it would've made him a better football player, mel is such a tool

BlackGold4vr
04-28-2007, 06:08 PM
Can't believe Houston is still dropping. Maybe Indy takes him.

I still want Blalock with our 46th pick.

Best available RB/WR in round 3

Yes and these are important rounds in my mind for us. We have other needs to address.

Greg Olson, TE there's a shocker. He has been wearing a Bears cap for the last 20 minutes.

kgreen
04-28-2007, 06:13 PM
I think Da Bears are trying ot make sure Rex "I suck but we're winning" Grossman's INT total goes down. Greg Olsen is an athletic TE and a good pick up even if it was obvious.

I think the Colts are taking Poz.

kgreen
04-28-2007, 06:20 PM

BlackGold4vr

Don't worry, Poz won't make it past the 2nd round.

Cards take Alan Branch.

DIESELMAN

I like Ugoh and Beekman. So those could be very good picks.

I like Ugoh....His skill as a run blocker is a big reason the Razorbacks had two 1000-yard rushers this fall. Ugoh is a hard-worker who coaches will love. Ugoh is a rock solid 300 pounds with great height and an amazing wingspan. At the Senior Bowl his arms measured an impressive 36". His long arms, combined with good quick feet, allow him to get hold of even the speediest edge rushers. Ugoh often puts the defender on the ground before the whistle blows (he had 67 knockdown blocks in 2006).

Didn't see it coming either. I like Woodley and I think he can contribute so I won't bitch about that pick. I do think that with 9 picks we can afford to move up to grab a player we wanted. Lots of activity with a lot of teams moving around and dealing except for us.

I can handle that we don't do a lot in free agency. But when we sit on our hands on draft day and just wait for people to fall to our position, I am not happy about that.

Those picks are not just Tomlin's. These teams take months preparing their draft boards and all coaches, management and owners probably all have some input.

My day could end a little happier if I see us move up to take Hunt or Bush. If those players slip by us as well I will probably shut off the TV with disgust.

Well, it looks like we won't get anyone we wanted unless the player falls right into our laps. Because if the Steelers had any thoughts at all about maneuvering for players they wanted it should have happened on day 1, not day 2! Maneuvering on day 2 for scrub players who you could have picked up as undrafted free agents doesn't exactly fall into what my definition of crafty is! :cursin:

It's not that we don't like the Timmons & Woodley picks, bleeder..it's that we're sitting here with 9 picks and not trying to move up and get some quality guys that can contribute for sure instead of a bunch of projects on day 2 that never make the team because our draft strategy sucks.

We always seem to find players late in the draft or as unsigned free agents if you trade up and draft somebody that also means you have to pay them also even if they end up getting cut..

Maybe Tomlin has a solid draft this year and the 2nd day picks pan out. I agree the Steelers should have tried to add more 2nd or 3rd round picks. Thats why I said trade down in the first round and draft Timmons.

But who knows maybe a move still will come from the Steelers the first day isn't over yet bro.

I can't believe people complaining about the draft and second round isn't even over....:dunno:

Because the talent is front loaded in the draft and our team sits idle waiting for their turn while every other team is maneuvering and making trades to go after the players they want. We sit quietly through the free agent period and realize that our team builds through the draft. I expected with all of our O-line problems last year that we would have surely come out of this years draft with one of the top lineman. We didn't. You snooze, you lose. Like I said I'm sure we'll snag plenty of practice squad caliber players tomorrow.

I just hope they don't wast any picks. I agree 9 might be to many. But you can find gems in the late rounds. I think history has proven that. Its just being smart.

I would say drafting OG, P, WR, RB,DE,ILB all need to be looked at still. Thats six picks right there out of the 7.
