Breaking News!! There is breaking news as Don Banks of SI.com is reporting that Oklahome RB Adrian Peterson re-injured his collarbone during the Fiesta Bowl and will now need surgery. The surgery will likely keep him out of action for up to 3 months. In fact he might not even be ready for the start of training camp. :dunno:

All the early mocks for the first 5 picks are all tossed into the fire with this development and the rumor of Trent Green going to the Dolphins and Oakland maybe having an interest in Culpepper.
Larry Johnson or Michael Turner might be even hotter items now.

no biggy.....he's a running back, running back position is the easiest thing to do learning wise, he doesn't need to be there for the whole training camp.......

I still havent heard anything abotu this on ESPN, I have been watching all day at work ,and nothing yet. I would imagine this would hurt his draft status a little bit.

i don't think so, it's april, he's a running back, they don't need a lot of training camp time to learn......that's why you see a lot of nobody running backs doing big things in the nfl, look at willie, he was a no body, and now he's a pro bowler.......... this will not hurt him one bit...........

Even if he is hurt still, it's not a career threatening injury so I can't imagine it would hurt him THAT much but he'll probably drop some in the 1st round.

According to John Clayton on ESPN, AP's injury is a 6 week recovery and no big deal, he would still be there for training camp, and predicts him to go number 3 and no further down than 6.

As long as no one puts the "injury prone" label on him, he'll be good to go.
