LATROBE, Pa. (AP) St. Vincent College will name its new football field after former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll.
The Steelers have held their training camp at the school for the past 40 years and will use the field, which will be called Chuck Noll Field.
Noll, in a statement released by the school Wednesday, said he was honored.
"I have vivid memories of the summer training camps where we brought each team together, despite the heat and humidity and work that we had to do. We worked hard but we also had a lot of fun and it all led to some great seasons," Noll said.

Noll, 75, was the Steelers' coach from 1969-91, and he remains the only coach to win four Super Bowls.
Steelers owner Dan Rooney said naming the field for Noll was appropriate.
"He never sought a lot of media attention and was always shy about drawing attention to himself," Rooney said in the statement. "But we think he deserves the public recognition that will forever be part of the new stadium."
The school will also use the field, including its football team, which is making a return this fall after a half-century absence.
Construction began Monday and is expected to be completed in time for Steelers' training camp in July.
This should be great for both The Steelers and the school. Reminds me of a High School field; Open field with seats on both side.
Hopfully it will make Training camp more enjoyable to go too and not have everyone all crammed up in 1 area:yesnod:

I think a great idea would be having St. Vincent College schedule a non conference game with Division 3 stand out Mount Union College. What a shot in the arm this could be for St. Vincent College.
