But releasing him does clear $6.25M in cap space. So there's that lol

Larry Foote clears over $1.1M in cap space.

More importantly, I was impressed with Williams.

They need depth at all spots on the O, but except for a WR, I'm happy with the starters.

The D needs a lot of bodies though, especially DL and CB. Can't wait for the draft and the possibility of actually adding a couple of solid FAs.

Curtis Brown was a serious bust. Bad draft pick to say the least. The other two were not unexpected.

Brandon Browner conditionally reinstated by NFL

Brandon Browner's indefinite suspension from the NFL is over, but the lanky cornerback will still miss the first four games of the 2014 season. He's free to sign with any NFL team when free agency starts next week.

The NFL and NFL Players Association released a joint statement Wednesday saying Browner was conditionally reinstated from his suspension for violating the substance abuse policy.

"Should he comply with the terms of the Substance Abuse Policy and Program, he will be fully reinstated after serving a four-game suspension without pay at the start of the 2014 regular season and forfeiting an additional four weeks of pay," the statement said.

Whatever team signs Browner won't have to pay him during the first four weeks, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a league source. That team will have pay him for the next four weeks, but that money will be turned over to the league.

There was excitement around here when we drafted Curtis Brown... high hopes for sure.

Aaron Williams, the other Texas corner drafted ahead of him just signed a four-year, $26 million contract, with the Bills.

Colbert sucks at drafting CB's.

This makes no sense. Aaron Williams was taken 2 picks out of the first round. Curtis Brown was a late 3rd round pick. If we had taken Brown over Williams, then your comment would make sense.

They also drafted Cortez in the 4th and he's turned out pretty well given where he was taken.

Edit: it's also worth noting that Williams got that contract to play safety.

Cortez is still unproven...
The Steelers have a terrible history of drafting/developing CB's. Nothing to do with Williams Vs Brown. Brown was a risk worth taking based on athletic ability in the 3rd, didn't pan out.

Maybe it's time they get a sure thing at Corner in the draft. It's kind of a big deal in todays NFL.

maybe we need to use FA on a CB

You know logic like that isn't in Rooney's or Colbert's brain cells.

Every time this argument is made (in all it's different variances).... the reply should simply be:

You're dumb
