If they even have the option i think its pretty obviously worilds

No question. Like Troy (until this year), LaMarr Fatley's leg muscles are made out of uncooked spaghetti.

Wasn't there some huge hit if we cut Woodley? If not, Worilds by a lot.

theres a significant hit, but not using the freed up money this year would offset it against next year lessening the long term effects of the cap hit....something like that

thank you. Why does this even need to be discussed?

why don't we cut ziggy, allow woodley to maintain his eating regiment and move him to DE, and keep wordils? lol

Cap hit for cutting Woodley is 14.1. If they designate him a post June 1st cut, they could spread that over 2 years, but they would have to keep that full 14.1 on the books until June 1st.

I know you were making a joke, but Ziggy Hood is a free agent.

Right! Cut, don't resign, let walk, as long as he's no longer around :-).

PFF has Ziggy as the 2nd worst 3-4 DE in the league this season. Color me shocked lol

Cut Woodley after June 1 and sign Worilds.

You honestly think he'll be cut? I don't.

I think he will be offered a lower salary or be cut, just like James Harrison was.

I wasn't commenting on whether I think he would be cut or not. I was answering the question you asked about the cap hit for cutting him.

Yeah, I know. I was just asking what you think they'll do... :)

Yeah, I know. I was just asking what you think they'll do... :)

What I think they will do is let Worilds walk, don't touch Woodley's contract and draft another OLB in the middle of the draft for depth.

What I would like them to do, is resign Worilds, cut Woodley and draft another OLB in the middle of the draft for depth.

I think they keep Worilds. I'd be shocked if they didn't. To me it's a no brainer.

About how much can Worilds command??? no ideas out there??

woodley is gone.

why would they let worilds play on woodley side to see how he produces just to let him walk out the door?
flipping woodley to the other side, when he was healthy, was a direct slap to his face AND putting him on IR to end his season was also a message.

Lol. They kept Worilds on the left because he was playing so well there and had struggled on the right. Woodley was placed in IR because he was injured.

Right... Woodley will be released!

Isn't Woodley Tomlin's guy? He drafted him, so he might stay...

Worilds played well this year, but not sure how he played the previous year.

Worilds has more upside. Woodley doesn't. Woodley's best days are behind him.

Worilds is also Tomlin's guy. Reports say that the Steelers were going to draft someone else, but Tomlin fought for Worilds instead.

Colbert wanted Sean Lee ILB Dallas drafted him when the Steelers passed him for Worilds.....Lee turned out to be the best Defensive player on the Cowboy team although now he is oft injured.......Worilds has finally broken into the lineup ans has had a decent year but time will tell for him.....

woodley was healthy and making a ton of money yet they moved him from his natural position where he has been successful in the past and put him on the other side where he has never played.
the steelers were still alive for the playoffs, yet place woodley on IR. wodley would have had 3 weeks to recover before the first playoff game or more if they advanced.
obviously the front office is tired of LAME R and his 'injuries' and decided that they need to see what they have in worilds going forward. they didnt care about woodleys ego(or production) when they told him he was moving sides.
they didnt even give woodley the opportunity to get healthy for a playoff run. they replaced him with a some bum off the street. you not seeing that is whats funny

Imagine if they drafted Desean Jackson and Ray Rice instead of Mendy/Swee

(we can do this all day... for pretty much any team... although, building a pro bowl team with Raiders picks over 10 years is always fun...)

I think we all did. I just goes to show that it takes more than just "looking the part".

I think Worilds for 4 years about 16 mill. I just can't see us keeping Woodley. Way too much money for what we are getting. Post June 1 release to go along with the money we save on Clark and Keisel. Now that's how we get the defence younger.

Can someone tell me why Fangupo never got a shot and why the heck Wallace sat all year (he looks the part)
