Steelers should be jumping on this. F zone blocking, protect the franchise QB.

I believe he'd be a better fit at LT than Adams and would enable us to move Adams back to RT .

You guys apparently didn't see any of the chargers preseason.

I for one will take Starks over our backups. At least we know something about him and Ben has always trusted him.

I did see the Steelers' tackles during the preseason....

Yes, I know Starks struggled in the preseason with the Chargers. But can anyone say they would trust Gilbert or Adams over Starks on Ben's blindside?

Starks doesn't fit our new blocking scheme, but i would feel better if he was back too...

If he wasnt good enough to make the chargers roster, I do not want him anywhere near Big Ben! Yes, he was very solid with us last year, but he looked abysmal in the preseason (much more so than Adams).

LOL There are about a hundred threads lamenting us bringing back former Steelers. It seems like many feel that the good move is always opposite of what the team does.

Starks gave up 3 sacks against the 49ers second/third team alone. He was beat out by King Dunlap. We should all thank god we don't have the Chargers O line issues. Max Starks would get Ben killed. He's been far worse than Adams this preseason. Adams and this O line will have some growing pains early on, but once they all get more comfortable with eachother, the scheme, etc they should be fine.

Starks would be a step back.

They don't have much time to gel. Look at all the teams with good pass rushes the Steelers face early on.

Chargers are pretty weak at OL. maybe Max doesn't have much left in the tank.

Stark is better than, what we have as backups, BUT he doesn't move well enough to run ZBS: The Steelers will use power runs, but three of the Steelers four backs are now ZBS backs. (Bell, LSH, Jones) and Starks doesn't fit that system.

Okay, but protecting the franchise QB is still more important than whatever run-blocking scheme the Steelers want to use.

the problem with bring starks back is they are tempted to start him and they need to move forward with the young guys

Id love to have him as a backup before this preseason but seems like after his preseason with the chargers even whimper is an upgrade over starks

There surely must be an upgrade at OL with all the cuts?? Also when Spaeth gets designated to IR to return who are we going to bring back? McFadden?
