Ok so heading into 2007 based on what we know at this point about our team and coaches...what has you more concerned about 2007; our offense or defense ? Or maybe you think they will both stink or they both will be fine ?

I say the offense and turning the ball the over the D will be fine

i say defense, they are getting older and we need to inject youth in there....our offense will be fine..........

Im gonna have to say they will both be fine this year, we have a smooth running offense when ben is healthy, we run the ball, and pass effectivly, ben is a good qb who moves around great, he will work hard this offseason and be at full strenth come next year. Willie will tear it up as usual with our rookie runninback leonard/bush/hunt being thrown into the mix and wearing down defenses in the worse way when willie breaks the 70 yard run. Bens mobility mixed with santonios speed will be incredible when he starts every game playing across from ward.

Our defense will be back to its badass self, suffocating and hard hitting with our new first round pick anthony spencer coming off the edge and anthony smith and polamalu putting fear in recievers. We have 2 great defensive coaches so im not worried at all about the defense...we have a TON of defensive talent and our DBs will be good again with Mcfadden and Ike and the smith/troy duo.

Im not worried about either to much, especially with he draft around the corner....to be honest im worried about special teams....we need our franchise punter damnit!

lol, to bad they won't get a punter, they are gonna try to stick with barr even though we could do 94875439857023498567029568237690587352096584370986 508347 times better in the draft with a late pick.........

**** barr, this guy can light up the sky with his kicks and light up the ball carrier with his hits....the other 10 guys become a non factor lol

I dont get whats so Wrong with Gardocki

K Train
02-05-2007, 08:25 PM
he has no leg anymore, returners had easy returns on us all season

BlitzburghRockCity
02-05-2007, 09:11 PM
Gardocki is still a great directional kicker when he's punting from about 50 or so because he can place it in the coffin corner or anywhere away from a dangerous return man...but his leg strength is gone and when we're at our own 20 and we need to boot it away and give our guys time to get down to cover kicks we gotta have a younger, stronger leg.

When our defense is on they are great and can play against anyone in the league; but Im anxious to see what we do in the draft and how our guys like Ike, McFadden and Smith step up to the task in the secondary as well as seeing how our entire defense adjusts to the styles of Lebeau and Tomlin combined.

Gardocki is washed up, and it's definitely time to cut the strings on this guy, i wouldn't mind drafting the baylor dude, but i'm sure the team will stick with barr even though he didn't show much playing in nfl europe

Offense...and even more focused on Ben. His start this year needs to be good (anything can be better than least year though) for us to even have a shot. The defense can only hold teams so long if we throw INT's or fumble the ball into the hands of the other teams.

Ben's decision making will be key. If the OL holds up and he's not running for his life, and the running game is doing well then there is no excuse for poor play. He's got all offseason to mentally prepare and a full training camp to get the timing down and any new terminology.

we'll see a much better ben next season, this year with all the **** that happened to him, he was afraid of his own shadow and just throwing **** around, that's why he got picked off so much, he was afraid if he waited a few more second he'd get killed............. so this year we'll see a more confident ben.......we saw a little bit of it towards the end of the season........

now, they just need to talk to willie, he put the ball on the ground way to much in key moments............ they need to go tiki on him and make him change everything

Absolutely we are all expecting to see the old Ben that we've come to expect on game day in the past so as long as his butt stays healthy he should be fine *knock on wood*

Willie did have some fumbleitis last year so his *** should carrying that ball everywhere he goes this offseason ;)

The offense and defense will both be fine. Ben please do not play the part of crash test dummy this offseason. We need to get special teams firing on all cylinders. Reed and Gardocki are both question marks in my mind. No need to mention coverage teams. We beat that to death. Although I think your going to see a highly competitive camp. The team will come in hungry and ready to impress Tomlin I'm sure.

My biggest concern is the O-line. I think we have some positions at other spots that we could upgrade but the O-Line needs to play better and more consistent than last year for us to have a good year.
ST's would be my other concern but with a new coach I'm hoping this will improve.
There's no way we can turn the ball over as much as we did last year so I'm not even counting that.....lol

I believe our defense needs some help at LB and DL. I like our secondary and believe it will play better this year. But they need more pressure on the QB! The offense needs depth at RB and help on the O-line! :2cents:

:beer3:

Ps. Where is the "ravens suck" smiley? Who knows how to make these and could we please add one?

Looks good but it is not allowing me to add it to my sig! It is giving me some rule about 5 pics on a sig that can only be enabled by an administrator? Looks like I have room for it next to the "Browns suck" and "Bungels suck"?

Images include use of smilies, the vB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator.

We have concerns and issues on both sides of the ball. The OL needs to be addressed as does OLB/DE and our secondary need to get their heads out of their ***. We also have the new coaching staff thing going for us.....Big Ben has never worked with anyone else before not thats a big problem thats all up to Ben if he realizes he had a ****** year last year and he was one of the problems we had. If he realizes that and gets his *** to work with the new coordinators and the WR's then he's good. The defense will still have LeBeau thats a big plus on D but we are getting old and are looking at new schemes and the possibility of being a hydrid or switching over to a 4-3 in the next few seasons. Only 1 person knows that for sure. It'll be an interesting season to see what happens and how our players respond to the new regime. :helmet:

I think we will be fine with a little tweaking on the o line and the secondary...
Give Ben a little more time in the pocket and quit getting burnt on 3rd downs..

Although I think the Steelers will be fine... the offense concerns me. How is the new OC going to use Ben? :dunno: Is he going to let him wing it out or is he going to Ben on a short leash and not ask to much of him as the Steelers have done in the past except for a few games here and there?? Plus what about the O-Line...they showed glimpses of being the best in the league but they also show glimpses of being the worst last year and now that Grimm is gone what's going to happen??? Just to many unknowns with the new offensive coaches IMO.

Actually, I wish I could change my vote for biggest concern to all of the players getting through the offseason without almost dying. Once we get past that, then I'll shift it to the offense.
