I guess at this point go purely with best available athlete in areas of need.

Maybe take a shot on an OT for depth.

Maybe another CB.

I thought we had 3 picks left? At this point it doesn't matter but I wouldn't mind Rogers or Hamilton.

Arizona went Swope. Guys I still like here are Cornelius Washington, Kevin Reddick, Mauti. I also like a few smaller running backs like Andre Ellington, Kenjon Barner, Jawan Jamison. Forgot Da'Rick Rogers was still in the board too.

We do have 3 picks left. 6, comp 6, 7.

I'd be OK with taking a shot on Da'Rick. Keep in mind, Sanders has been injury prone. I hope they don't do their usual "throw away" Colbert picks in the later rounds.

Da'Rick is a 2nd round player with off the field issues. He's been compared to a faster Anquan Boldin. I hope they go Rogers.

That would really make me happy.......Take a freaking chance in the 6th round...If he doesn't pan out then no big deal......

I mean at this point it's not a gamble because it's a 6th round pick which we have two of. I hope he makes it to us, 3 teams to go.

100 percent agree. The reward astronomically outweighs the risk at this point. If he gets his act together he could be a legit #1 receiver. If not, we lost out on a 6th round pick.

Im definitely not surprised. I just think the reward significantly outweighs the risk at this point.

For their next pick I still like Reddick, Mauti, Rogers (though I won't hold my breath haha).

i dont really think lester is a draftable guy. Id prefer Kenny Tate or Ray Ray armstrong. Lester could be a priority FA. Those Alabama/LSU gmaes in 2011 that everyone hated watching have put nearly 30 player sin the NFL....crazy

They could have taken P. Thomas after S. Thomas instead of Jones and still got T. Bray in this round, what are they doing?

Zachintosh66

P. Thomas is slow... nobody wants T Bray so far... its not what are they doing. Its what are you thinking?

Zachintosh66
04-27-2013, 06:18 PM
Dont seeing it being Chase.

Gotta be Mauti or Reddick...

Possible FS Tony Jefferson
Possible TE that guy we cant pronounce from Auburn or Fauria
Possible OL Fragel, Summers or Omameh
Possible DL Dawkins, Grissom or Geathers

Zachintosh66

For those following Mauti did visit... i think most of the other visits are off the board already except G Nic Embernate - San Diego State. But, I cant find much info on that guy. Wasnt even invited to the combine.

Really not happy that they didn't draft any OL depth. I was dead set against a first (or second) round OL, but we definitely need depth. In fact, I believe we should be taking an OL somewhere in the draft every year, to keep replentishing the depth, moving older guys out and having better back ups.

Per Walterfootball

Vince Williams, ILB, Florida State
Height: 6-0. Weight: 247. Arm: 31 1/2. Hand: 9 1/8.
Projected 40 Time: 4.83.
Projected Round (2013): 5-7.
4/24/13: The thickly built Williams didn't produce much in college, but he helped himself with a strong performance at the Senior Bowl. Williams had 59 tackles with 6.5 tackles for a loss, one sack and two passes broken up this season. He collected 54 tackles, two sacks and an interception in 2011.

Williams could play on the inside of a 4-3 or 3-4 defense. He looks more like a two-down defender if he develops well.

Number99

V. Williams yes solid. Good run defender. He'll provide depth and a push or get out for Sylvester.

So round 7 OL or DL?

With all the O-lineman taken in this draft, there will be some veterans dumped. We may add depth to the line then.

oline was depleted, i mean completely used up by the end of round 4...so many went in round 1

2 down LB....i had him in mock draft 3

http://www.steeleraddicts.com/forum/showthread.php/37597-K-Train-s-Steeler-Mock-3-0

6. Vince Williams, MLB, Florida State

I have dropped Rontez Miles from my mock....had him as a lock for the steeler ink on his arm, but with the Elam pick i dont think its a need anymore and really hes just not that good. Vince Williams was in for a visit this week and he is a big downhill MLB. 6-1 250 and is a true thumper. I compare him (favorably) to Jasper Brinkley who was a mid round pick for the Vikings and has put up a pretty solid career for what he is....a downhill thumper. He has the size to take on guards and has shown some pretty decent instincts to make up for his lack of top end speed for the position (althought the 4.7ish speed is plenty for him). He had a good senior bowl and looks to fit the mold of a 2 down LB on the inside of a 34. I could see him replacing sylvester on ST and being replaced by spence on 3rd down. Not as productive as Brinkley, but a better player than Josh Bynes of Auburn who i liked in a similar role...could develop nicely

Actually, from what I'm reading you are close to the Doug Worthington comparison. Nick Williams, apparently, is a pretty big man (6'4", 309 lbs), and looks the part, much like Worthington.

He grades out as a DE in 3-4 I think.

Real nice draft. Can't get everyone we like... I'd like Starks back and to sign a vet TE. Beyond that the only complaint I have is a lack of DEs on the roster. I guess they think Keisel still has life and Hood and Heyward are ready. I wanted another option there in the 5th or 6th rounds.
