So we may loose Saunders to the pats because we can't come up with 2.5 mill. All i've heard this offseason is how bad our salary cap issue is. We've lost 5 mill a year for Colon going, and other players yet we're still in trouble...

Begs the question... on an 8-8 team just who the hell is getting a lot of money and are they being overpaid ? Maybe we need to be cutting someone else ?

Does anyone have a breakdown of players with their salaries ????

That 5 mil doesn't kick in until June 1st. And they do have the money to match the Pats offer, it's just a matter of whether or not they would rather have Sanders, or an extra 3rd in the draft.

Plenty of people who should be told it's time for a pay cut or a release.

Woodley $10.2 mill?
Troy $9.1 mill?

Really? $20 mill for two players who didn't do jack squat last season for an 8-8 team.

Grow a pair of balls, Colbert and Rooney.

That's false. They could easily come up with that cap space before you could blink.

Is Woodley's any better?

As I said in another thread. Everyone complains that we do not keep our "young talent" and then complain about the young talent that they did sign long term. Damned if you do...

You are only covering half the topic. Sign young players and then don't allow them to become fat, injury prone and no where near worth what they are getting paid. It is a damn sin that Pgh is paying Woodley and Troy what they are. Just pathetic. A total embarrassment to the team, city and fan base.

And how exactly do you do that?

By having a coach/team that applies team discipline. You think Parcells or Coughlin or Belichick would put up with Woodley's insane fatty fat fatty body? Allowing Woodley to get that fat is insane, while making $10 mill a year.

Woodley showed up in camp in the best shape last year he has ever showed up in. Read the reports in the offseason, not just make assumptions. Your posts are often just sterotypes and assumptions, not facts. Do some research once and a while. Go to the Steelers site and read what Butler said about Woodley coming into camp last season.

As me and BG32 have said numerous times, he needs to drop 15 lbs. I think he will do it this offseason. Them Nike jerseys made everyone look like they gained 20 pounds.

Oh, I'm sorry. I use these things called my eyes. Woodley has never been more fat fatty fat fat than he was last season. EVER. My eyes tell me the truth; I don't need "reports" to realize what the truth is.

That was no jersey that made Woodley look fat. He was fat. Just look at his arms even. He didn't used to have fat arms. He is starting to look like Hampton.

can we chill with the hyperbole please? he did come into camp in good shape... The best shape he's been in in a few years. He got injured and put on some weight. It was leg injuries (hamstring, ankle) that sidelined him so it's not too hard to believe that not being able to run much would result in him gaining some weight.

Training camp 2012:

And here is his first game back from injury (@Dallas)... He may have put on a few pounds around the midsection but I wouldnt say Casey Hampton or that his arms are fat. That man's got some pythons:
