Who do you keep and in what order are they the priority?
The UFA's are Will Allen, Foote, Foster, Mendy, Hampton, David Johnson, Legs, Lewis, Mundy, Wallace, Charlie, Bryon and Warren.
The RFA's are Sylvester, Sanders, Redman, McClendon and Dwyer.
The exclusive rights Free agents are DVD, and I think that it is. All we have to do is tender him the min salary and he cant go anywhere.

Keep in mind, we are already over the cap and rearranging salaries of Ben, Woodley, Timmons, will only get us about 8 under.

Losing Hampton , Foote , Mendy, Charlie and Bryon frees up a good bit cap room right??
also I'm not sure if the NFL has a cap penalty for releasing guys as I'm not a Salary cap person ... but I know Madden does and I'd say Madden is pretty accurate in most things ..But I think depending on the penalty Harrison needs to be cut , and or restructured

UFA -
Mike Wallace - whether you like him or don't , he should be the priority in this off season
Keenan Lewis - I don't think he made himself as much money as some people think , He had a good season but to say he's going to be highly Paid is something I doubt... I mean with Ike out the guy who is supposed to be our #2 didn't even cover AJ Green they had our #3 covering him
rest is cannon fodder besides maybe Will Allen for ST and good backup play this year

RFA
Sylvester - 5th round - ST player and I still want to see what he has but he never gets on the field
Sanders - 3rd-4th round - salary cap issues and he can be replaced easily
Redman - 5th round - Maybe lower ... who cares??
McClendon - 1st or 2nd round - this guys really impressed me with his little bit of playing time, and I think he is the NT of the future
Dwyer - 2nd or 3rd

The cap is only players under contract. So losing Mendy and others has no effect on next years cap. And yes cutting players has a penalty.

everything about your idea of trading for future 1st rounders makes sense now

they have no chance of signing Mike Wallace... they won't even be able to afford to franchise tag him

keenan lewis is a MUST sign

it would be nice to bring back will allen

none of the other UFAs matter

Lewis gutted it out on one leg in a "must win" game...

Keep Lewis... #1 priority

Foote (& maybe Will Allen) may have to come back for another, and Im okay with that...

Steelers will choose between Foster and Colon, Colon got his $ last year. But they cant keep both.

Teams usually keep their RFA's so im not gonna bother, they will be back.

Everyone else should be gone in my opinion... yes, including Wallace.

Wallace and Mendenhall gone.

That will save a lot of money.

They are not included in next years cap numbers because they are not under contract next year.

Colon unfortunately eats up more cap space if we cut him, then if we keep him

The Colon and Woodley contracts as absolutely awful, roster decimating deals...

Lewis is a keeper; As much as I hate to say it Mendy is the only legit RB on this team so they may and try to keep him....the rest should be gone.....

Mendy is the best RB on the roster, but is the headache worth it?

don't be, they need to be.

Mendenhall ****ing sucks and has done his entire career.

what a ****** pick when forte and johnson were around. jamaal charles and ray rice in later rounds too.

mendenhall was the overrated prospect of the RB groups, not mcfadden.

I think there might be a few missing. I think that Starks, Van Dyke, Pope, Plax are FA but im not sure.

Restructure Colon, Ike, Harrison, Woodley, Timmons, Ben. Depending on Ta'amu and his charges Hampton might be brought back for another year at vet minimum.

FA
Lewis, he earned it this year
Mendy, he should be cheap after this year. I want him back.
Van Dyke, has potential should be cheap.
Plax, Vet minimum
Starks, again under appreciated. He has earned a 2 year contract, make Adams/Gilbert compete for RT

RFA
Sly - 5th round
Sanders - 3rd round
Redman - 4th round
McClendon - 2nd round
Dwyer - 3rd round

Zachintosh66

Restructure:
Ben - due 19 mill
Harrison - 10 mill
Woodley - 13 mill
Ike - 9 mill
Trou - 10 mill

Keep either Colon or Foster, whoever is a cheaper option...

*not sure how accurate those figures are, just what i found online

screw mende and wallace, mende is worthless Id rather have Redman/Dwyer/Rainey than mende, mende is the reason this team sucks, if we would have just went with johnson or ANYONE instead of him think about how much better our offense would be. We need to sign a good back this off season, and that will probably be with the draft. Hopefully we don't waste the draft on a bunch of out of shape pigs like we did last year who will just end up injured as if we had no draft to begin with. To be completely honest I think we will be fine if we keep Lewis, Taylor, Allen and Dwyer and draft a good half back to carry the load. Dwyer sure is good for the occasional change of pace, just cant stay in for an entire set of downs. Dwyer would be great to add to a #1 running back. Cut the rest of the fat (literally and figuratively) Well keep sanders to so we could have Brown, Sanders, Buress and Miller for receivers, that'll be fine. It's possible to fix this mess and pull off 10-11 wins next season if we draft correctly.

Keenan Lewis must be resigned.

Wallace and Mendy can go. We get get a better RB in the mid rounds than Mendy.

DL - Keisel, Hood, Heyward, McLendon, Ta'amu (hope he gets a 2nd chance)......DRAFT
LB - Timmons, Woodley, Spence, Foote, Worilds, A Robinson......DRAFT.....Harrison (find a way for one more year)
S - Polamalu, Clark, W Allen, Golden......DRAFT
CB - Taylor, Lewis, C Allen, C Brown......DRAFT
K - Suisham (would not surprise me if he is gone for late Draft or FA) - leg strenght alone

Keenan Lewis plans to test free agency. He told #Steelers "they made a mistake" by not offering multi-year deal before 2012 season.

:evilshake:

if this truely is the case... we may have to franchise him to keep him

I predict Da Beard is gonna get the Ax this year as well...
