I've been seeing a lot of posts about Tomlin and how the Steelers suck and are gonna limp into the playoffs and get our *** kicked... and how "great" teams like the patriots don't have the problems we do... Then they complain that the players have lost their fire... What do you think you guys are doing?

Yea I'm not gonna lie I miss the old days and watching Bill Cowher's chin sticking out at the sidelines and hearing the announcers say "now thats the face of the Pittsburgh Steelers". I miss having one of the best Offensive lines in football and seeing the Bus truck over people for 7 yard gains at a time making teams play on their heels than destroying them on defense. But saying Tomlin is a bad coach and the players aren't behind him anymore is messed up. If DeCastro and Adams didn't go down with injuries we might have had an awesome running game with Dywer, Pouncy, Adams, and DeCastro. Hell if Polamalu didn't get hurt he might have had one last season in him and cause some game changing turnovers. But the fact of the matter is, a lot of our guys got hurt this season and the rest are playing hurt. And so what if we limp into the goddamn playoffs we did it before and we'll do it again. we knocked off the Ravens with Charlie Batch and half our secondary... Right now we should be rallying behind our team. F*#$ the patriots! I hope we crush them with our crappy patchwork o-line and Tomlin says some cliche Lombardi quote after the game. I hope Polamalu has the playoff game of his life and make sure he goes out with a bang. This team has a chance to make the playoffs and I'm staying on this ship until it actually sinks, for whoever jumped off already I'll see you when you jump back on when were deep into the playoffs.

It has been an inconsistent year for sure. Which has added to the general frustration. I know a couple of things: Big Ben throws it, Heath Miller catches it, Woodley sacks it, Harrison concusses it, Timmons runs it down, Pouncey pancakes it, Wallace flies by it, and Brown runs around it. Who's next?....Cowboys? I hope Cam Heyward breaks Romo's jaw. America's team, I would be ashamed.

while that was a great highlight, doesn't mean its hall of fame worthy.

chris johnsons touchdown vs steelers in 2008 when he dicked all over polamalu is also great, but does that mean he should go to the HOF\?

I like the discussion in here. For the most part I don't see it as being negative, but more honest. I have always thought Steeler fans were the most knowledgeable in the game.

Blind alliance to any team is how franchises such as the Browns exist. Previous management knew the base was there no matter the record, so had little incentive to improve.

I have no problem reading posts calling our players or coaches. What if all the was posted in here is: "The Steelers are cool".

Hey, this team has issues this year and have spent the money. We are up against the cap limit, so you can't really say the money wasn't spent. People should be held accountable when they under perform.

Bettis retired #6 all time only Emmitt Smith ,Walter Payton, Barry Sanders,Curtis Martin ,Ladanian Tomlinson, finished with more yardage HOW IS THAT OVER RATED ? THERE ARE 30 PLAYERS CURRENTLY IN THE HALL OF FAME LISTED AS RUNNING BACKS WITH LESS YARDAGE

the next load of crap coming is being a hall of famer is about more than just yardage

"Jerome Bettis was overrated." 6th all time rusher in NFL history. Sooooo overrated . Some SteelerAddicts on here want to be/ were spoiled. Down years happen. Also, The Bus' didn't make it on his first go. He was eligible in 2011.

HOF is more about yardage.

Whilst Bettis was a goal-line back, 3.9 average for a career isn't great, and tomlinson has like 50 more td's than bettis.

Bettis career average was like 300 carries, 1100 yards and 7 tds, hardly hof credentials.

HOF Should be harder to make IMO.

the bus was overrated and shouldn't get into the HOF on first go.

13 years, 3479 carries, 13,662 yards, 3.9 Y/A. 91 TDs. 6 time pro bowler, 6th leading rusher of all time (I think he was 5th when he retired.) Yeah, that dude totally sucked. /smh

Only one of the top 10 rushers of all time not in the HoF (LT is not eligible yet.)

I dont mind talking about things the steelers need to work on thats what forums are for but it sucks when people talk out of their *** and think Tomlin is a bad coach and the Steelers don't play with fire anymore. And I'm sure most of them don't see what goes on in the locker room or at practice. they see whats on TV and they gotta blame somebody for the losses.

The lack of fire is a valid point though....One week the team looks inspired and beats the Ravens in Baltimore with Batch at QB and then the next week the Steelers lose in Pittsburgh to the sorry Chargers while looking flat and really not interested......Not the first time this team has looked flat and unprepared this season....Plus look at the all the penalties this year by the team....Really they have played undisciplined most of the season.......That reflects on the HC......

Maybe I'm in denial but I can't make a claim the the Steelers have lost their fire. and I can debate whether or not Tomlin is a bad coach or not quite frankly I wouldn't mind seeing somebody else but to blame everything on him is kind of crazy.

There have always been many varying and different opinions here which have made this site fun. It's fine to debate the actions of a player, coach, front office or owner. But this year it has been different and in my opinion not for the good. There are many more personal attacks between members now. It seems to be the norm and not the exception. Some of the personal Tomlin comments are simply unnecessary. Some may call it honesty, others call it ignorance.

The good thing is we have an ignore feature, the bad part is those you want to ignore tend to get quoted very often and you see them.

bricktown alot of us are frustrated with the teams inconsistancies this year. And this is where we come to vent. Ignorant, no. Realistic, maybe. We've lost 3 out of our last 4 games. Two of which we failed to even show up. We don't see things through rose colored glasses like some. Can they turn it around? Hope so, its make or break. Thus far, the Steelers are not an elite team this year. Doesn't make us bad fans.

I think its fair to say as steelers fans were spoiled by the certain level of success we've become accustomed to from our team. Where most fans are just happy to see their team make the playoffs, were not happy unless the season results in another lombardi. This desire for perfection is part of what makes being a fan. Of this team great, but also makes a lot of "fans" look like d---s.
We expect a certain level of fire and passion from our players, and when we don't see that it can lead to comments that look like spoiled people whining about not getting what they want. A great example is Wallace. I'm sure plenty of people who now question whether Wallace should be trusted to carry the water coolerwere the same ones who over the previous two years were saying he was one of the best in the game. I think we can all agree Wallace is a rare talent but its obvious his heart and mind our not where they should be. Like many players and coaches it seems the fire is not there for whatever reason.
watching this lack of fire and passion I think leads us, since we are such a passionate fanbase, to make statements that can sound ignorant and hypocritical, like saying romping and players like Wallace are terrible and wed be better off without them.

This is why Indo feelbthe old man Rooney being back around could be what this team needs to spark the fire and focus this team is lacking from top to bottom. Its like the saying "when the cats away the mice will play". Even though Dan Roo,ney is more of a symbolic fixture than anything nowadays, having the big cat back in the building could be just what this team needs.

:iagree:

Just because we don't watch the Steelers through black n gold glasses doesn't mean we aren't fans. It means we're realists, but still fans nonetheless.

This team has serious issues right now on the offensive line and until the young guys step up, at CB opposite Lewis (until Ike comes back). There are plenty of good players on the team, players that any team would love to have, but we are not without fault. If this team plays like they did during the 4 game win streak then anything is possible, including the super bowl.

If they play like they did against the games they lost then we're in trouble.

The disscussions in this forum are not negative by any means. Just pure, honest talk both positive and negative. Retarded fans feel you can only say good things about your team. Mature, educated fans will criticize their team both positively and negatively. Based on what they see. Anyone who thinks that you should only say good things about your team shows their lack of maturity.

How is Bettis overrated? He brought the ground and pound, smashmouth football to Pittsburgh that us fans have been craving to see the past 4 years or so. He retired the 5th in most rushing yards before LT passed him. I dont understand how the hell he is over rated. :duh:
