Not will he... But should Ben Play vs the Ravens?

If he is medically cleared to play and if Ben can handle the pain then yes he should play.......

Yes...

I vote no.

He's going to be like Lefty was when Lefty was trying to throw the ball at the end of the game and couldn't even get the ball to mid-field.

It's just not our year. And I don't care what anyone says, your risking his long term health subjecting him to that pass rush of the Ravens. They brought it last week against the Chargers..and you don't think their going to bring it like that against Ben?

Let's just take our *** whipping like a man and move on. No shame. The ratbirds are not going anywhere either. Not with that bum they have at QB.

If he passes all the medical exams and is cleared? Yes. If he feels like he is up to it? Yes. If he practices this week with no pain? Yes. We need him, and the playoffs hang in the balance.

Ben at 50 percent is better than Lefty and Charlie at 100 percent COMBINED!

See San Francisco game last year...no he shouldn't play.

49ers game his ankle was the issue....He couldn't plant and step into his throws......If Ben is cleared and wants to play then he should play....Early on if he shows he has issue throwing the ball then Tomlin should pull him.....

We lost, but Ben didn't have a injury setback that game did he? That 49ers D-line was crazy last year and we would have lost by more with Lefty or Charlie under center. If Ben can go next week, he should.

Hell no. Give him another week. Like I said in another thread we need him against the Bengals at this point and get to 8-8 for the 6the 6th seed. Not against the Ravenbs with a shambled offensive line and you know damn well Ben would only be at 60%

Tomlin didn't pull him last year...he didn't pull leftwich this year...what makes you think he'd pull Ben Sunday? Lol

Has nothing do to with the type of injury. This is not a must win this week, just like last year vs the 9ers. This is about being as close to 100% as he can get for the final month of the season. We could have beaten the 9ers last season (although the likely) but Ben wasn't the same.

We can win this Sunday (although not likely) and have Ben ready for the stretch run.

This team has 5 AFC losses already so losing more AFC games is bad......If Ben is ready to go and is cleared to play then he should play........

Fine...I disagree...10-6 is extremely probable and would get us in.

If he is ready play him. If he is not 100% don't take the chance. We still can make the playoffs

if hes healthy enough to play, then play. we need him back.

Only if he is healthy. No need to risk a career ending injury. Future seasons are more important than this year.

All the Steelers really need to do is finish 9-7 win all 3 of their home games against the Chargers.Browns and especially the Bengals and have the Bengals lose one more game aside from the game here at home against the Steelers and they will get in the playoffs at 9-7 it's as simple as that. With that being said, I dont play Ben this week because this week is not really a MUST win yet. Next week against the Chargers however is and I give Ben one more full week of rest and bring him back next Sunday at home against a Chargers team that is not very good and who he can have a lot of success against...The playoffs in my opinion begin next Sunday here at Heinz Field against the Chargers that is when the games are really going to start to count and when the Steelers really need to start winning...

Under normal circumstances I'm totally agreeing with BG32, if Ben is ready to go then he should go. Hell if we were still really in the AFC North hunt then I'd probably still agree.

Our best hope now is the 5th seed, either way it's wildcard city so yeah I'm all for sitting him down. This whole thing by Tomlin is just a smokescreen. No way Ben is or was going to play this week.

Give Ben another week to heal up. Let's see if anyone can hang onto the ball this week.

No I don't believe he should play we need to keep him out another week and get #7 healthier. We need him ready for the bangels chargers and Colts we have to keep an eye on them and grab that wild card spot. 1 more week. #7 andTroy and everyone will be much healthier at that point then we can run at the wild card playoffs.

All those if's are not true. He IS IN PAIN....he can't make all the throws. The team and the fans are acting like desperate little woman. The man is a trooper but he can't play up to the level we need him.

Sometimes you've got to learn to let it go. Gzzzzzzzz. He can't help us right now and probably realistically won't be able to help us for atleast another two weeks. I guess I'm not a "Fan" per say because a fan comes from the word "Fanatic". And I'm not all hell bent on rushing him out there to hurt our chances NEXT YEAR!

I want 4 more good years from the guy and if we fix a couple of areas in the off-season along with getting an inshape, healthy O-line, we can win it then.

Bringing back a 40% Ben with all the problems we have on this team isn't taking us to any Super Bowl this year. So why do it?

The last 4 games are more important as of now than this Ravens game. Face it, we are not going to win the division. Our shot at the wild card is great if we still lose this week and win 3 out of the next four against the Chargers/Bengals/Browns/Cowboys.

Sit Ben out 1 more week, I think it would do him wonders. I dont want Ben going into MT bank stadium and taking another shot that can take him out for the season when we have the 6th seed or 5th seed down the road.

Steveo

I vote no as well. Let him sit for one more week, and get him as close to 100% as you can before making a run to the playoffs.

I am going conspiracy again.... The pro refs are helping the NFL get a game together in the SB between SF and Ravens..

The brothers grimm in one big game... no other explanation why the Ravens are winning...

Ben or not we lose in Baltimore... Keep Ben home for the big run as the sixth seed.

Need Chargers and Detroit to win..

Come on, be realistic here. The Ravens are not a scrub team. We put ourselves in this position by losing to the titans and raiders.

Absolutely right here - Steelers have blown games by poor coaching preparation and turn overs and penalties. Eliminate those (coaching in particular!!), get healthy, see what they can do.

No...Sit Ben........Win the last 4 and the Steelers will be seeded 5th...the Colts are going to lose at least 2 more games....

All right, I did say yea but now I'd sit him. There is NO chance of winning the div so let's get healthy for the stretch..

A lot of people saying that even if we give up on the Ratbirds game, we only need to win 3 of the next 4 to get a wildcard. What in the world makes you think we are guaranteed to win 3 out of 4 against the Chargers, Cowboys, Bungles, and Brownies? We did watch last week, not to mention the Titans and Raiders games, right?

You have to do your best to win every week in this league. You cannot take wins for granted. You play the players who give you the best chance of winning.

What's going to be funny is Charlie "flipper" Batch is going to carve up the Ravens D and we're all gonna say, damn I didn't see that coming!

Im not talking about us at all, its a conspriacy... Look how many games the Ravens won by the skin of their arses.. 4th and 29 and no penalty??? we would have had a hold or something called.. KC 9 to 6 how did they get the 9 ??
