View Full Version : The Steelers without Ben Roethlisberger

I've got to say I'm getting kind of sick of this team falling apart when Ben is out. I understand how imperative he is to our offense, but there has got to come a point where the rest of the players learn how to pick up the slack in one way or another. The defense certainly has done that, but the offense is slacking 100%. When the Pens lost Crosby and half of their starting lineup last season they rallied and were able to, somehow, still do well against top opponents. This entire team needs to get this **** together and stop relying so much on one player.

Two years ago the Steelers went 3-1 when Ben was suspended. With Batch and Dixon and were one play from being 4-0. The defense for the most part, has done its job.The offense has been terrible. Having 5 fumbles does not help and how many penalties. Yes Charlie struggled, but got no help.

You need an extremely competent head coach to win without the starting QB. The Steelers have Mike Tomlin.

There's only one Big Ben (ok 2 counting a lil Ben)!

Look at the bright side: nobody can talk about how "overrated" Roethlisberger is anymore and be taken seriously.

I'm currently not sold all is lost with Ben out. With Lefty being left in the Ravens game being all banged up, we still had a shot at the end. The defense did it's job to give them a chance to win.
The Cleveland game, well, they gave up more points and due to the Browns being the Browns, I don't think Batch's 3 picks would have cost us the game. It was the RB fumbles IMO. I still don't know what the hell happened with that and will never know why it was such an issue all of the sudden for whoever carried the rock. I don't know, maybe they all shared the same bad oatmeal for breakfast. I'll take it as a bad Carma or something for now.
Batch just needs to manage as best as he can and everyone else do their job. Like Steelersbabe said, I will sick of this crap after Sunday if if we give do everything to give the game away like last week. Even if it's the typical close game we usually have against the Ravens and we end up losing, I won't loose any sleep over it as long as it can be considered a toss up due to good play on both sides.
If not, Colbert and Rooney better start really considering beginning the process of grooming BB's eventual replacement.
