View Full Version : Do you still go with Heath Miller as the emergency QB while Ben is out?

Sounds funny but it's true as I'm sure most know by now if they didn't already. Heath was originally going to play QB for Virginia and did complete one pass in college before changing to TE in his redshirt freshman year. In the past it was always Hines Ward as the emergency QB, or Antwaan Randle El.

Byron Leftwich is the starter, Charlie Batch will be the backup and the 3rd QB is Heath as of now. Currently there are no QB's on the Steelers practice squad, so it's possible they could bring back Jerrod Johnson if they want. Or another veteran but that would mean cutting someone, which isn't something they want to do I'm sure.

To my knowledge, Johnson was not picked up by anyone.

Anyway, Heath came pretty close to taking snaps in that KC game. If Bryon would have gone down, Miller Time would have been taking snaps. So do the Steelers play with fire potentially and not bring in anyone else for the time being, or do would you rather they sign another?

I'm sure there is a QB is the stands..

You have to sign someone. It's only a matter of time until Leftbitch and Batch
go down in some capacity too. We seen this scenario not too long ago when
they both dropped not far apart and I think it was Dixon? who came in.
I don't want Miller taking snaps,I want him catching passes in crucial situations.

There is only one man for the job:

I agree with SC58. You must bring someone else in. Who I have no idea.

it would be hilarious to see heath running the offense, could you imagine the chants if he ran it well? that **** would be crazy

im very much in favor of kurt warner coaxing...old man could probably play a second half of a season in pursuit for another ring to solidify himself in the hall

Everytime he completed a pass it would be HHHEEEAAATTTHHHHH

The only logical choice would probably be to bring back someone who's been on the team before, if they are going to make that move. Let's face it if we get down to having play someone like Jerrod Johnson we're completely screwed anyway.

I have already decided the season is over anyways. Let Heath play if Leftbitch goes down. All the QBs that are available would have to learn the Haley offense anyways, so who would be a better fit then Heath.

imagine heath just methodically driving down the field in a complex hurry up style offense. hilarious

That would be a dream come true lol. Think of the chemistry he would have with Paulson and Pope!

If these reports are to be believed and he is indeed out for the season, can we not just put him on IR and bring in a free agent QB? Jake Delhomme would be my choice. Doesn't HAVE to be the starter, but if we have to have 3 QB's on gameday, wouldn't be a bad choice

I say just let it play out cause if we win any games it's more than anyone thought we could and if we lose we won't be disappointed and not spent extra money on a qb that isn't going to help much anyways plus maybe a better pick on draft day
