View Full Version : Who gets cut to keep Ta'amu?

Alameda Ta'amu was reinstated to the Steelers team today, but since he's on the 53 man roster again, someone needs to be cut.

Bouchette thinks they should just cut Ta'amu and sign him to the PS.

Who's going to pick him up and sign with with all those charges pending against him?

no...

someone would claim him. I have little doubt about that. He is possibly our NT of the future and we can't afford to take that chance.

Keep him. Everyone messes up in life. If he does it again, then cut him. Just give him another chance is all Im saying.

Van Dyke will be gone..

Cromartie was signed and activated because Van Dyke has had 4 or 5 holding penalties this year on ST returns. He was signed to be a beast on ST and potential additional DB, but I wouldn't be shocked if Tomlin cuts him (Van Dyke).

That would send a message.

Blitz, I'm hating you for that awsome avatar. Love that thing.

Just made it the other day, it's on the downloads (http://www.steeleraddicts.com/downloads.shtml)page too as a wallpaper :)

Read into this what you will

Mike Bires ‏@mikebires (https://twitter.com/mikebires) Tomlin didn't rule out cutting Alameda Ta'amu, who's back from suspensiont after his DUI episode 3 weeks ago. "We'll do what's best for him"

If you keep him, you put strict limits on him going forward.

If you let him go, you'll play him twice per year in Cincy.

I say you got to give the big man at least one chance to have a second chance with the team. There's too many knuckleheads on the special teams to not find somebody else to cut. I guarantee somebody else would jump at the chance to get AT. I'm not surprised that some rookie lineman with Polynesian bloodlines would do what he did but I assumed it would be Amini Silatolu not Ta'Amu.

So Van Dyke gets another shot...

I would have a hard time agreeing with keeping Ta'amu around and cutting Van Dyke when the rookie hasn't done anything yet but get arrested. Cutting DCS though, he wasn't going to stay on the roster long term anyway.

Cut Van Dyke.

Van Dyke is young with a ton of upside and the Steelers liked him last year. I don't see him going anyplace..but you never know.

No way Van Dyke gets cut ... he has a few penalties but his upside outweigh all the holding penalties ... not to mention he did cause a fumble on special teams too... let's not act like he's all bad

Everyone messes up? Seriously? He's looking at like 5 felony charges and the potential for many many years in prison. That's messing up?

Getting a DUI is messing up. This goes far and above beyond messing up. And a problem that makes him not wanted by anyone else.

Considering the fact that he barely made the roster out of camp (had he not been the 4th pick, he likely would have been cut in camp) and now this "messing up", he's extremely lucky to have a job.

the 5 felonies are pile on charges that will be dropped

Thats my opinion. Im sorry you dont feel that way, but thats how I feel and Im not backing down from it. If he messes up again, then cut him.
