View Full Version : So, is the Steelers defense really "back" now?

Another solid performance, the first time this year they've had back to back good games. The pressure was there by all the linebackers, the ground game of the the Skins was held in check, and RGIII never felt comfortable.

Keenan Lewis with a good game, Cortez Allen as well. Will Allen playing very solid (just needs to stay healthy).

Keep in mind the Redskins offense is good but RGIII is a rookie, and the win last week against an overrated Cincy team was good but not against epic competition.

Let's see how they do against the Giants next week, but so far so good.

I think they did pretty well today considering they were supposed to be dominated by RG3 and the Redskins run game. Only giving up 12 points? Not too bad.

Well they do look to be playing more aggressive than passive. Excellent job today all around!

No, have to wait.

We beat the Bengals Redskins - not exactly creme of the crop for opponents.

Next week will be a great test vs. the Giants. We gave up a few too many nice rushing yards and the Skinz will not be accused of using Stickum. Overall a really nice game, we scored on most possessions, ran with authority, Ben stayed upright all game. If Clark didn't get hurt I would have been happy with every aspect of the game.

Ya but RG3 was supposed to dick all over LeBeau's defense, remember? ;)

The Steelers defense had lots of help today with the Redskin's receivers dropping about 100 balls today.

Yes next week on the road will be a much better indicator.

Defense and run game only looked good because it was against the Redskins and we were at home.....lets see what happens next week.

Next week is a bigger test for the O-Line. Lot of good pass rushers for the Giants.

+1 Defense did look good but it would have been a very different story if the Redskin receivers would have cought anything. I thought RGIII looked pretty good. He is going to be great.

I'm confused, last week RGIII was your god and was going to make DL's defense look like crap. We beat them and now they're not a very good team. Got it !

BTW , the Redskins led the league in rushing and RGIII "was" connecting on 70% of his passes coming into this game. Not to shabby.

The defense did give up a few big plays but nothing that was ridiculous to me, really. Between RG3 and the #1 run offense in the league, our defense was supposed to get absolutely massacred. I'd say they held their own pretty well. I would have liked to see more pressure earlier.

How about Will Allen?? He's been playing solid I think...

Yes he has played surprisingly well and K. Lewis is improving his game every week.

Very on and off. He has a garbage few plays, then does something really good. Then a garbage few plays, then does something good. He's solid sometimes.

Until Eli rips them up.

If Ike and Lewis continue to play like they've been the last few weeks, we can handle Eli, or at least keep them somewhat in-check. It'll also depend if Troy and Clark play. I think Clark will, doubt Troy will. I don't like seeing Mundy AND Allen both back there.

Exactly. Yesterday's result was a combination of the D playing better and all of those drops by the Deadskin receivers. It would have been MUCH closer if they catch those balls.

The Giants will not drop so many.
