The Redskins, along with the entire NFL viewership, will be laughing when they spy the once proud Pittsburgh Steelers being pushed onto Heinz Field by a management team (what were they thinking?) that decided to dress its players up as prison inmates. I guess it's fitting, given that the following Wednesday is Halloween. But really now, how can you expect others not to laugh when they get a gander at these costumes...er, uniforms.

POST-VICTORY UPDATE:
Actually, after seeing these unis in action (with the traditional black helmet), they didn't bother me that much. Could be because Steelers played pretty well. A "W" always looks good! Anything better than the white pants and yellow helmet they wore last year.

some of the ugliest ever... right up there with Denver stripes and the Eagles funky colored ones...

The jerseys are almost ok... but when there is going to be 11 on the field at once I fear its going to be overwhelming

There is a reason these team dont wear these "throwbacks" any more...

well we have an accused rapist on our team, a law defying DT, a ex-WR that threw glasses at girls, an accused man beater.

sounds fitting.

Great stuff... Cross routes and Slant routes... Flashes of Stripes everywhere...

Rainey and Dwyers coming thru the tackles will be hard to judge and tackle... Total advantage...

I know this is going to sound silly, but considering the significant contrast to a black uniform top vs the backdrop of the fans at Heinz Field, I wonder if the Steelers are (A). concerned about the receivers blending into the background too much or (B), if so, are they wearing similar practice Jerseys so Ben can get accustomed to finding them on the field in routes?

LOL these things are just fugly. They aren't getting better the more I see them.

I get the whole nostalgic thing, celebrating the past, and that this was the style worn back then.. but man please don't let them change their minds and wear these for more games next season.

Actually, Harrison92, your concerns are not silly; they are legit....and I had the same exact thought now when I logged on. The lead article on SA is about "No Excuses for Offense." Let's hope this doesn't become one.

Couldn't agree more, BRC. Think the current plan is for one more outing of these costumes this season. As Harrison92 mentioned, just hope Ben doesn't get confused on who he's throwing the ball to.

I don't think it will be an issue, by that logic QB's would get confused when throwing to a player down the sideline blending in with all the jerseys. When crossing over the middle the background will be green grass, and the crowd is elevated. I don't think these jerseys (color-wise) differentiate enough from our old alternates to create confusion for Ben

as long as we win. they wore the 1933 throwbacks in 1994. very similiar. the players dont seem to mind them. its all merchandising. sell jerseys to make money. i didnt mind the ones we used the last few years, but i really hope this will be the last we see of these things.

Sheeeeeeit! That's well below the NFL average of thugs, and miscreants on a single team.

Again, the jerseys are cool. The pants are what makes the uniform putrid. If they were black pants, it would be sick.

I like the uniforms. Something different. I realize it is just a marketing gimmick for the league to sell more jerseys, but I like the nod to history. I wouldn't buy a jersey, but I would not buy a regular jersey either.

I don't know if its just me but the jerseys are growing on me. I'm not sure if it's because of the win today or what it was but every time I see our highlights I kinda like seeing the jerseys. I don't think they're uglier than the jets and packers throwbacks with the awful brown and blue combo

As much as I disliked them in the still photo's,these hideous bastards didn't look too bad
when the whole team was sporting them and we seen the whole uniform in motion.
I think they wear them one more time this season. Not sure what game though.
