View Full Version : Ike Taylor and Keenan Lewis vs Jackson and Maclin

Desean Jackson had a touchdown reception against the Giants but other than that the Eagles won that game on field goals. Maclin didn't do much of anything; Jackson had 99 yds receiving in that game, and his first TD of the year.
That was a big time defensive game with neither team doing well in finishing off drives.
Taylor and Lewis have to be careful in this one because if the Steelers pass rush doesn't contain Vick, not only will he run but he'll be looking to throw down field. They'll have to stick and stay on their receivers for a few seconds longer because of Vick running around. He wasn't known for that in the past but now he's more of a passing QB, or atleast trying to be.

I have no faith in any of our DB's... Ike has been getting picked on and has a lot of flags thrown his way so far.
Maybe just maybe Troy comes back and adds some pressure...

Sorry..but our secondary made the raiders recievers look special. So advantage goes to the Eagles.

If the first quarter defense shows up against the Eagles, we'll be ok. If the 2nd-4th quarter defense shows up it's going to be a shootout. Our DB's scare me right now, but perhaps with Troy coming back they'll be able to mix things up and confuse Vick. If that doesn't happen then this game worries me big time.

The DB's success will depend completely on whether or not the front seven can get pressure. If the Eagles stay with the 3-step drop stuff as they did last night, the DB's will have to come up and pressure the WRs. Right now, advantage Eagles.

Severa of them have been bogus calls, due to the replacement refs calling any contact at all against the defense.

I'm having no faith in the pass rush helping the secondary. What a lot of you are forgetting is that even when Harrison was playing, they still had no pass rush. There needs to be three new starters on this defense next year. One in all three phases of the defense. And they need to be younger then 30 years old. :yesnod:

Harrison practiced on Monday and he tweeted that "God willing I'll be playing on Sunday" so maybe there's hope for the pass rush yet. He's going to be spelled an awful lot though by either Carter or Worilds so we can expect a 3 sack game just yet. Still though the pass rush has got to do something to contain Vick or the secondary will be hung out to dry.
