Lewis hurt his shoulder, sprain, a couple days ago and before practice today said he was likely going to miss a few practices. Then camp starts and he's out there battling, although limited, I think it speaks volumes to his character and toughness to be out there. Tunch Ilkin talked today too about how good he looked considering the pain he's in with that injury. He was getting off blocks and playing physical.

Curtis Brown played well today too and showed serious toughness covering his man; shedding blocks and staying with the receivers. Cortez Allen is having a great camp too so Lewis can't afford to miss much if he wants to win that starting job.

It's nice to see him being able to tough it out.

Carnell said all of his players are showing serious ability and intelligence as they learn their positions. He singled out Myron Rolle, Robert Golden, and Walter McFadden too as sleepers to keep an eye on.

Lake has to be excited as all hell to have such a solid group of players all fighting it out for the starting spot. It's a win win for the entire defense no matter who gets that job. Gives you some hope for when Ike Taylor eventually retires or gets released.
