Making it in the NFL definitely has some perks. Besides everyone chanting and raving your name, the paychecks that begin rolling in, is definitely worth it. Most of the players in the NFL will make more money than I'll ever probably make in my lifetime. But with the more money you make, you definitely have to invest in it and save it for the future.

Sometimes, while watching football, I think about what the stars spent their first check on. Was it a house? A Car? If It was me,I would buy a car and a house, invest in stocks and bonds, and then save the rest. But when you're fortunate enough like today's football players, having endorsements with Adidas, Nike, etc money isn't sacred and it comes and comes.

What would you do with your first NFL check?!?

I would pay down debts, put a new roof on my house, buy new clothes to look sharp, and bank the rest ... it's a bad investment environment these days ... I would take a serious look at ways to invest beyond mere stocks and bonds, such as buying into a business or a franchise, or commercial real estate ...

Let's see, two or three houses, a couple boats, a few motorcycles, the ferrari..yep that about covers it. At least that's what Marshall Faulk did back when he was playing under that rookie contract.

Really though I'm honestly not sure what I would do in that situation other than the paying off debts being first and foremost.

I'd buy the company that was my old job and fire my old boss. Yeah that would be sweet.
