The Steelers added another veteran to the mix on the offensive line today, T Kyle Jolly formerly of the Falcons.
@MarkKaboly_Trib: Steelers add T Kyle Jolly. Was 2-year practice squad guy until he spent last year with Atlanta. Roster now at 89 players, 1 under limit
So is this just another body to add for training camp? Does it show a complete lack of faith in J. Scott at T? That certainly wouldn't surprise anyone, especially on the left side. How do you guys see this affecting to current offensive line starting group, if at all?

J. Scott is supposed to earn $2.7 million this season with I believe 2.2 of which counts towards the cap.

If that much counts towards the cap even if he is cut, he ain't going nowheres! But it won't affect the starting line up at all because Scott isn't going to start....

Pretty sure Jolly has been in the Steelers camp before. He might get a at a back up spot but likely cut before the 53 is final.

It's not like Jolly is competiting for a starting here. In reality if he makes the final 53 as a backup that will surprise most people.
Let's face it, if it comes down to him starting then our offensive line is serious trouble once again.

Practice squad body. The only fringe o-lineman I'm curious about is the behemoth Trevis Turner...if he's even still on the team lol.

He's just camp fodder for practice.

Healthy body for training camp. Low risk signing, who knows?
Means we have probably seen the last of Max Starks.

Jolly is definitely an insurance pick and a warm body. If it came down him starting or Starks, I'll take my chances with his bum knee recovery and get him on the roster as soon as they can. Other than his injury recovery, the problem with Starks now is that he'll have to learn the new terminology of the offense. Still though he should be able to pick it up quickly if necessary.

Jolly was on our roster last Super Bowl, IIFC.
