Rookie seventh-round pick Kelvin Beachum received his Master’s degree from SMU and delivered the commencement address for his class at SMU’s Simmons School of Education & Human Development on Saturday. The offensive lineman earned his Masters in Liberal Studies with a concentration on organizational behavior in only 16 months. “I don’t know the statistics on how many people go into the NFL with their Masters, but to be able to succeed on the football field and in the classroom go hand in hand for me,” Beachum told the team's official website. “You have to work hard on the football field and in the classroom just to be able to stay on the field

I'm very happy for the young black man,
This type of news doesn't make headlines SMH, i wonder why:thinking: i hope he makes our squad,we need these type of players on our O-Line, and then we can get rid of that dead weight (Legs, Essex,) etc... Congrats again Beachum i hope he has a successful career with us!

How in the hell do you not pull for a kid like this?

well at least he can pursue a good career once he gets cut

Training camp body, nothing else. I'd be very surprised if he made the team.

Have to give the kid props, he's preparing for his life after football by making sure he finished what he started. 7th rounders are guaranteed nothing so he may need it sooner than later. He's bright though, obviously, his mind can pick up the concepts so it's just a matter of if his body can keep up and handle the pressure.
Real Deal Steel

I like smart guys on our team. Never hurts. Now if he has a bad attitude to go along with it, that's a combination hard to beat.

Yea chances are Beachum will be nothing more then training camp fodder or practice squad material but you never know......Some 7th rounders do go on to have very good careers.......
