Round 1 - 24th Pick - ILB Donta Hightower - Bama
Round 2 - 56th Pick - RB Doug Martin - Boise State
Round 3 - 88th Pick - OG Brandon Washington - Miami
Round 4 - 120th Pick - WR T.Y. Hilton - Florida Int'l
Round 5 - 152nd Pick - DT Akiem Hicks - Regina
Round 6 - 184th Pick - FS Aaron Henry - Wisconsin
Round 7 - 216th Pick - QB Nick Foles - Arizona

I'm not big on Foles ... there are several QB's who we can take with our supplemental picks in Round 7 ... also I would expect a few FB's to be brought in after the draft ...

It's an interesting mock. However, I think it has a couple significant problems. The biggest problem is that it does not address the two biggest holes on the team in any significant way. OL (specifically guard) and NT are not just areas of need, but huge gaping holes. This draft doesn't address OL until round 3 and then never again, and NT isn't taken until round 5 (with a guy who's rated more of a round 7 type pick.)

All things being equal, I could certainly see a draft such as this, going with BPA regardless of position. However, with the weaknesses we have, we must have a NT high (if not 1st then no later than 3rd) and we must come out of the draft with a high pick guard and one, if not two more OL picks later on. In the 7th, we should be looking PK and hope we get a decent one.

Hicks is better than a 7th round pick he got screwed by the NCAA Cartel that's why he played in canada if he was able to stay at LSU things would have been much different

Its hard to argue with this draft. He addressed the areas of need and with players that Visited. My only adjustment to his draft is asking is Lamar Miller on the board instead of Martin. It's said that Tomlin loves Lamar Miller.
As for another NT what round do you have Hebron Loni Fangupo going in? PLus with 3 compensatory picks we can take Delvin Johnson NT Marshall and Myles Wade NT Portland St.

I'd also grab a OG/OT in the 2nd and RB later.

I based it on the visits the Steelers invited in recently ... Hilton, Hicks and Hightower all came to Pittsburgh ...

Our starting O-line is a work in progress ... LT Gilbert - LG (open) - C Pouncey - RG Foster - RT Colon ... with Legurskey, Essex and Jon Scott having all had time with the starting unit recently ...

I should express here ... this is NOT the draft I would like to see ... I prefer that we forego taking Hightower and trade down into the second round ... we could end up with two #2's, a #3, and two #4's in this draft ... and then we could address the O-line, the D-line and Safety with mid-rounders ... I believe this draft class has some quality mid-rounders available at these positions ...

But it's well-established that I'm a worthless "hack"

It wouldn't surprise me, I like the #1 pick. I don't see a RB in the second, but overall a decent draft!

just add your name to the other many people who try to predict this thing. the overwhelming majority of mocks i've seen had us taking hightower, and decastro going no later than 10th.

lol...outside of predicting #1 and #2 this year, it's all a crap shoot. if anyone got these picks right or even close i wanna go to vegas with them.

btw, agree with you on adams. not crazy about the pick, but i hope he turns out well so colon can be a fast memory.

I like the Adams pick. Mike deferred his signing bonus 18 months to prove he could stay clean.

Kid learned his lesson, plus Decastro and Pouncey will mentor him.

I love that Adams sought out the Steelers after those test results from the combine came back. He's got serious motivation and incentive now, that will hopefully drive him and keep him focused.
