Just saw it come down on Twitter: Our friend DD at TribLive and many other sources reporting that Cotchery has re-signed with the Steelers today. It's believed to be a two year deal at this point.

This is what most of us have wanted all along and figured would happen eventually. He wanted to return and I'm sure wanted to get his services secured before the draft.

Great move and provides solid insurance if Sanders' foot becomes problematic again and/or if Wallace leaves after this coming season is over.

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay...haven't seen anything really official, but wexell just tweeted: Should go without saying that signings of Pope and Cotchery lessen Steelers draft needs...But I said it anyway

Great signing, we will have a very solid receiving corp this season, now lets hope Wallace and Brown can get signed to long term deals

Cotchery stays with the Steelers

Veteran receiver Jerricho Cotchery, who slid into Hines Ward’s role in Pittsburgh last year, could be filling those duties again.* Especially since Ward is gone, and now Cotchery is back.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that Cotchery has agreed to terms on a two-year deal.

The former Jet drew interest from the Chiefs and Rams before returning to Pittsburgh.

With the Steelers using cap room to sign Cotchery and tight end Leonard Pope in the past two days, the Steelers could be feeling confident that they won’t need extra 2012 cap space to match an offer sheet signed by receiver Mike Wallace with a new team, since appears fairly clear at this point that Wallace won’t be signing one.* The window for restricted free agency closes on April 20.

Cotchery caught 16 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games with the Steelers.* Those were the lowest single-season numbers since his rookie year of 2004.

We finally stop talking about the Steelers taking a TE in this draft now and now hopefully a receiver too. Unless it's a late round depth pick I don't want any parts of a receiver before the 5th round.

Cotchery gives you all the stability you need as veteran, reliable, guy to come in and be productive any time you call on him. This now gives the Steelers virtually the same receiving corp as last year, but with a younger version of Hines Ward now able to carry some of the load.

great news! now even in 2013..we got Brown, sanders, and cotchery...and probably pick someone in the next 2 drafts we look OK ...now losing Wallace wont hurt as bad, and the steelers front office knowss wallace is only got one more yr here..just hope sanders gets healthy

I like it.

I might be in the minority here, but I believe Wallace will be dealt before draft day. This makes it a little easier. Hopefully we get at least a third rounder for him. With Pope and Cotchery in the fold and a trade of Wallace, I think we can load up in this draft.

My dream draft.....Package the third for the Wallace trade with our first to move up to get Poe and draft guards in rounds 2 and 3. That would make me very happy.....

Not predicting it, but I could see Wallace being dealt on or before draft day. I am not saying it is going to happen, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I could see the Texans calling us about Wallace. It makes sense considering where their picking in the first round.

Good, I would go as far to say Cotchery is the most clutch WR we have on the team right now. Wallace and Brown both have disappointed when we needed them in the playoffs. Cotchery should be the #3 WR on this team behind Wallace and Brown. Sanders has shown some flashes but you need a first down fire shot like Cotchery on the field.

This will make most Steeper fans happy and jump on that bandwagen....I actually think Cot will do well.

Haley & Ben plus 2 big OL draft picks. Our offesne is fine.

DL needs to get this defense back to sacking and forcing take aways. we cant cover WR's forever.
