Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians wants the team (http://blog.triblive.com/steel-mill/2012/04/03/colts-arians-interested-in-leftwich/#.T3swIPqUext.twitter) to sign Byron Leftwich (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1478/byron-leftwich) as a backup quarterback/tutor for Andrew Luck (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6439/andrew-luck) or Robert Griffin III (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/7406/robert-griffin-iii). Leftwich spent three years playing for Arians with the Steelers, who have expressed interest in keeping Leftwich around as Ben Roethlisberger (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1181/ben-roethlisberger)’s backup.

The Steelers are tight against the cap, though, and are still looking for free agent help at other positions. The Colts could offer Leftwich more money, although it’s unclear how much they would be willing to spend to bring Leftwich to Indy.

See ya later dude, if Arians wants you that bad then have fun. That would guarantee that Charlie Batch is retained for another season. Also would open the door for someone like Troy Smith to possibly lock down the 3rd QB spot if he's up to the challenge.

So putting him on IR twice with your ****** playcalling wasn't enough let's try it in a different uni!

Leftwich hasn't been good since his second or thirst to last year in Jacksonville. There will be no difference if he goes to Indy.

I think Leftwich had the NFL game cartridge at home. Arians couldnt find it. Its all coming together now.

Should have snagged Jason Campbell when he was available. I guess cap space is just too tight. Time to draft a QB...maybe Keenum?

If Lefty could stay healthy then you could make a case for keeping him over Batch, but none of us is confident that he can stay off IR for an entire year. I don't want Leftwich back and then have nobody behind him but a rookie or someone with next to no significant experience.

Leftwich hasn't helped us in the past 3 or 4 season. Addition by subtraction.

What has Troy Smith ever done to say that?.....lol Troy Smith sucks.....Campbell is nothing more then a backup QB at this point but he has done way more then the great Troy Smith in the NFL....lol

Yeah seriously. Campbell has better career numbers than Leftwich and would be a good backup. Until Troy Smith shows me anything, I'd rather have Batch as the #2.

And no, I would not want Jamarcus Russell. Geez.
