Ed Bouchette mentioned today of 2 more draft picks that visited the Steelers. Nothing earth shattering with either but one or both could be late round or UDFA depth.

Alabama linebacker Jerrell Harris and West Virginia cornerback Keith Tandy. Neither player attended the combine workouts in Indianapolis.

That brings to six the known official visits made by college players to the Steelers. Guard Brandon Brooks of Miami (Ohio) was there Friday and three others visited previously: Ohio State OT Mike Adams, Florida International WR T.Y. Hilton and Cincinnati DL Derek Wolfe.

This older story has some twists in it

Alabama's backup linebacker, Jerrell Harris, will be back after a six-game suspension. He will be back to play for the South Carolina game on October 17, meaning that he will miss the next two games against Kentucky and Ole Miss. Alabama has been waiting for the NCAA to announce its ruling about Jarrell receiving impermissible benefits, allegedly a laptop computer from a third party.

Jerrell Harris was a 4-star linebacker recruit (according to Rivals) out of Gadsden Alabama last year. Harris provides depth at linebacker that is even more valuable now than the linebacker corps is without Dont'a Hightower. Hightower was lost due to a season-ending knee injury this last weekend.

wow, he had some serious tears..

Last Sept. 26, 2009 in a game against Arkansas, Hightower was cut down by a block at the knees.

The meniscus and the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee were torn. His season was over.

I'm just glad there looking at the right positions. I would think Linebacker and Corner are of the highest importance behind offensive line. Even though our line to me is starting to shape itself up and take form, we still have a few missing pieces.
