Do you have any links to go read about these dudes??? The draft is my downside when it comes to football I usually spend the offseason earning husband points so when football season comes around again I can empty all my husband points :D

I'm telling you Anthony Spencer from Purdue. He played DE in college but he can play OLB in a 3-4. Everytime I watched this guy play this year he was making a play it seemed like. He has a chance for the 1st round but he might fall to the 2nd round.

I'm in the heart of Big 10 country so I seen Spencer play alot this year. It just seemed he was always doing something positive on the field when I watched him. He reminds of A. Thomas from the Ravens.

i think puz would be a good guy to have for MLB because he made the transition this year at school....someone to groom to replace farrior :dunno:

Koopa
01-25-2007, 01:42 AM
yeah, but we don't need to groom anyone, we need an impact player now lol....... and i really don't see porter returning, cause he wants money a lot of it, and the rooney's ain't gonna give an old guy a lot of money....

i kinda have a feeling porter will be back

Koopa

yeah but for how long?? farrior at least has a couple more years left in him and he keeps restructuring his contract so he can stay and not be a huge hit to the cap, i think we can draft someone next year to groom, plus we got rian wallace waiting for a chance too........if porter is back it's probably just to play out the contract and then he's bolting for a big payday

He reminds of A. Thomas from the Ravens.Hes a UFA this year too. I know we didn't get into the FA market a lot in the past but we do have a new coach.:dunno:

I hear you bro. I just don't get my hopes up in free agency. Yes the Steelers have signed the likes of Jeff Hartings and James Farrior in the last 5 or so years. But I would expect A. Thomas to be out of the Steelers price range. I'm sure Thomas is looking for a huge pay day. But he would be a nice player for the Steelers. The perfect hybrid OLB/DE.

I also think that whether porter stays or goes, James Harrison is gonna get alot more playing time.

I've been reading here lately about David Harris and that hes the real leader of the Wolverines Defense. Speaking of MLB's just my 2 cents.

Senior Bowl practice notes:

Monday Practice Notes: A powerful player who diagnoses plays quickly and shows power in taking on blockers. He fails to distinguish himself in coverage.
Tuesday Practice Notes: Looked really strong at the point. Also showed good footwork in pass-cover drills though he rarely made any plays on the ball in scrimmage. Showed a lot of range and covered a good amount of area in scrimmage which is a big positive.
Wednesday Practice Notes: Around the ball a lot, though he did not make many plays. Again showed good range and covered a nice amount of area on the field.

Hey Jay Moore had a great Senior Bowl. He would be guy to look at in the 2nd to 3rd rounds.

Either way Tomlin goes he needs to draft the best pass rusher available and fit the scheme around him. I like Carriker too, some people are comparing him to A. Smith hes around 6'6" 290lbs.

Dave Thompson's Scouting Report:
LaMarr Woodley possesses a great combination of quickness and strength with the versatility to play defensive end or outside linebacker. He is solid at 270 lbs. and can lay the "big hit" to the ball carrier yet displays enough speed to run down opposing quarterbacks. Although he doesn't have blazing speed, his closing speed is deceptive in pursuit of the ball. Woodley is an impact player on the field as a pass rusher recording 12 sacks and 15.5 tackles for a loss his as a senior. He shows solid hand technique at the point of attack to shed blockers and locate the ball carrier. Woodley is clearly a "tweener" and will most likely find himself playing linebacker at the next level. His best fit in the NFL would be a 3-4 defense as an outside linebacker an occasionally line up at defensive end. Woodley has all the intangibles to excel in 3-4 scheme as a pass rusher and get the job done against the run. He will be a first day selection, probably a mid-to-late first round pick.

i like woodley too, but with the potential of moving to a 4-3 in the next couple of years you don't want to stock up to much on players that would best fit in the 3-4 scheme

K Train

were not goin to a 4-3

Tomlin and Colbert are going to have their work cut out for them, theres a lot of talent between OLB's and DE's.
