TAMPA, FLA. (AP) —The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/tam/) have signed free agent tackle Jamon Meredith (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/9426/) to a two-year contract.
Tampa Bay also has released defensive ends Tim Crowder (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/8310/) and Nick Reed (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/9511/).
Meredith enters his NFL season, but has played in only 17 games, starting four. He was with Pittsburgh last season.
Crowder has spent the past three seasons with the Buccaneers, playing in 41 games with 13 starts. In 2011, he played in 10 games and had 14 tackles.
Reed joined the team for the final three games in 2011 and had two tackles.
So if any of you were hoping that Meredith would make a big impact in 2012, perish that pipe dream :D
