This is a good move, Kapinos deserves a shot to stay on the roster. He's not the 2nd coming of Ray Guy but he's serviceable and has managed to stay healthy. That's more than we can say for Sepulveda even as much as we all like the guy.

Agreed, Kap earned his place in black and gold. Good luck to Sep, get healthy and go to the NFC.

Now for the kicker.

I say we try this guy... big and strong.

Carson Wiggs is a big solid kicker with accuracy and power potential to get better..

2011 ALL-BIG TEN FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): Kicker Carson Wiggs, Purdue, has been selected All-Big Ten Second Team for the 2011 college football season as voted on by the conference coaches. Wiggs finished the regular season 16 of 21 on field goal tries, including making his last nine consecutive attempts. He was honored as the Nov. 28 Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week after going 4 for 4 on field goal attempts against Indiana, which matched his career high by hitting from 48, 43, 29 and 22 yards out, and also connecting on all three PAT attempts to account for 15 of Purdue's 33 points in the game. Wiggs is the most accurate kicker in school history (73.6 percent, 53 for 72) and has the second-most field goals ever at Purdue (53). - Purdue football

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not overly excited by his career conversion %.
