If we lose Mike Wallace(pray we don't), I could see this:

Rd 1. Cordy Glenn G Georgia changed from Kevin Zeitler of Wisconsin
Rd 1. Mohamed Sanu WR Rutgers
Rd 2. Alameda Ta’amu NT Washington
Rd 3. Nate Potter OT Boise State
Rd 4. Tank Carder ILB TCU
Rd 5. J.R. Sweezy DE North Carolina St.
Rd 6. Donovan Richard S South Carolina St.
Rd 7. Chad Diehl FB Clemson
Rd 7. Randy Bullock K Texas A&M
Rd 7. Will Blackwell G LSU

zeitler is a terrible pick in the first...will crush in the run game but it pretty terrible in the passing game, which is not the direction we need to go. in the second i love him, in the first hes my new least favorite player

I hope your right man but it dont look good, it really dont. were broke we have no money!! If we tag him another team can still give him a deal well ask for a first round pick, theyll put a roster bonus in the deal where the steelers would have to pay it. so that puts over the cap even more, and next year sanders and brown are free agents too. It dont look good thats all i say..

I'd rather sign A.Brown now and if we lose Wallace for a first rounder I'm good with it. However, what I'd worry about is Cincy taking him. We'd lose him to a division rival and get the 21st pick. I wouldn't mind Philly taking him and giving up the # 15 pick or SIgn & Trade with Philly to Move up to 15 in first and their two seconds #46 & 51. I'd send them Chris K and Larry Foote to sweeten that deal.

We still need to reduce The Cap so thats why I'd give up Chris K & Larry Foote. I'd rather get something than nothing.lol Plus, Andy Reid loves Big Nasty Lineman & Needs a veteran LB,( I'd ask for Casey Mathews but thats me being greedy)
The Steelers need to take a realistic approach with Wallace & The Cap. If they can't sign him and think someone might snatch him then be PROACTIVE. Go for a trade with a Mid to early team. Hell, Contact Miami and trade him for Mike Pouncey and their 2nd & 4th. Be honest and be Pro active. I'd rather get something for wallace and Secure Antonio Brown this year.

I agree, but I was being sarcastic in my previous comment. You were saying that the Steelers would sweeten the pot with Chris K and Foote, but if we got rid of those two AND received something in return that would be killer.

I would also worry about NE who have been looking for a replacement for Moss for a while.

I think if we pick up a first rounder, it depends on the team that signs him. There are teams that have multiple picks that could afford the pick, but might not be willing to pay the big money and give up the pick.
Among the teams that have the most cap room are SEA, JAX, CIN, KCC, TB, and WAS. These teams have anywhere from $42M to $63M in room.
Wallace also has to be willing to sign with the team so he could turn away from a team that has more cap room and less of a chance at winning. CIN has picks and cap room.

With the way the cuts have to happen, We will be taking a OT and a nose tackle with our two first round picks because we will be needing starters from those two picks. We will find a WR late in the draft like we found Brown.

So you are saying that we should be looking forward to one of these picks if he is tendered: Tampa #5, Washington #6, JAX # 7, KC # 11 or Seattle # 12! I'll take one of those picks but I don't want Cincy at #21. I agree that we need to be able to get an immidiate starter if we lose him!

Its all in Wallace's hands. The Steelers have to match whatever offer sheet he signs or he walks. Some teams have more $ to offer. Some teams have better chance to win now. Its really up to him. If the team offers more up front money, they will do it strategically knowing the Steelers cap situation. There will be GMs who wouldn't give up the big money and the pick and not entertain it.

I guess we will all know soon enough.

Why not go with Poe, Glenn, and Hightower with those picks in the rounds 1 and 2? I'd be ok with not taking a WR early on even if Wallace would leave. Keeping Cotchery though would go a long way to making me feel better about it.

Seems like everyone doesn't like wallace or has "lost" respect for him. Haha I can't wait to see what happens when brown can't beat coverage without wallace in there. I will "lose" respect for brown too lmao

Its not that I don't like him. Its that we can get a more physical receiver and a fast one in the draft. My main point is I'm good with an extra first round pick. Don't break the bank for him. They have other needs they can use that pick on. Our NT has a torn acl, our ILB is 37 and slow his backup is 31 and slow, We might need a starting corner because Gay & Lewis are UFA. We need linemen because Doug L & Foster are RFA and Essex (who people want to get rid of) is UFA and Played just about every position this year and people want to get rid of him. Evryones crying for Kemo's head. What does that leave us with? Pouncey,Gilbert ,Injury prone Colon and practice squad players.. Yeah I'll take the extra pick please. Thanks

Did anyone else smile when Steven Hill ran a 4.3 and say to yourself yes lets get a extra rd 1 for Mike Wallace and grab Steven Hill Gtech in the 4th or 3rd? I did. I also like Gerrell Robinson a big physical WR.

Every team in the league noticed that. Lets see if he makes it through the third. This will now be called the Mike Wallace experiment or something like that.
