Kicker
1. Blair Walsh 510 192 Georgia
2. Philip Welch 62 205 Wisconsin
3. Randy Bullock 59 212 Texas A&M
4. Carson Wiggs 60 192 Purdue
5. David Teggart 60 203 Connecticut

Any chance you guys think the Steelers use a late round pick on a kicker to replace Suisham?

For sure.....Tomlin and Colbert did spend a 4th round pick on a punter so I wouldn't be shocked if they took a kicker in rounds 4-7......I wouldn't be against it either.....Suisham is a bum and needs to go.......

I bet the house that they draft one between 4-7 we really need one...

At those later rounds you kind of start just hoping the picks will pan out anyway. Kickers are usually pretty easy to pick, so it would make sense. Besides, Steelers don't really need more back-up players. We have excellent back-ups at most positions. We need 4-5 solid starters at some key positions to be back in prime position.

But history shows you can find a damn good kicker without drafting one...I wouldn't mind a kicker being drafted but only if its one of the top two........

Indeed, although it is kind of risky if you take into account that we could very well end up with a guy like Suisham again. At least we assure a decent kicker through the draft if we elect to go that way.

We have 6 picks starting in the 4th round thru the three 7th round picks, so I'd hope we pick up the kid from A&M or Georgia!!!

Yup. Which is exactly why I believe we will pick a kicker somewhere in there. The nice thing about those kickers Matt listed is that they all played on grass with the exception of Welch from WIS. I believe they have field turf.

So does Texas A&M...

With the extra picks in the 7th I can see them drafting a punter & kicker.

maybe round 7, otherwise no

I honestly don't see why you wouldn't use a 6th round pick or maybe even a compensatory 5th round (if we were to get one) on a kicker to be honest. It is clearly a very weak point on the team, and finding other starters in those rounds are pretty rare. Sure, every now and then an Antonio Brown will show up, but more often than not it is the likes of Frank Summers, Keith Williams, Doug Worthington, A.Q. Shipley and so on. Kickers are usually easier to pick as they are very easy to evaluate and usually not in very high demand on this rounds.

Hopefully with Arians gone we can score 6 when we get in the redzone now instead of kicking field goals. And if we get a full back we can just do 2 point conversians all year.

Many people think the Steelers will get a least 1 7th compensatory pick for Spaeth. So, if we do, I would like that to be a kick or even our 7th round pick. I dont want to use anything higher than a 7th because too many good kickers go undrafted. We could wait until the 7th. We dont need the best kicker in the world, I was happy with Reed before his last 1/2 season with us, and he was good, but only inside 50 yards. I would be happy with that again.
