View Full Version : Rod Woodson back to the AFC North? As a Bengal?

Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis told the Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cincinnati.com/blogs/bengals/2012/02/01/lewis-doesnt-have-timetable-on-new-secondary-coach/)that he has no set timetable for filling the team's vacant coaching position in the secondary after Kevin Coyle was named defensive coordiantor of the Miami Dolphins.

But he did say he would entertain the possibility of Rod Woodson being a candidate for the job.

Woodson and Lewis go back to the days when Woodson was an All-Pro defensive back with the Steelers and Lewis was an assistant on the staff. It was Lewis who helped recruit Woodson to division rival Baltimore, where they won a Super Bowl together in 2000.

Woodson was a coaching intern with the Bengals in 2010 and spent last season coaching cornerbacks in Oakland.

I'm sure WoodsonsGirl isn't too happy about that..

I have nothing but respect for Woodson, although it pissed me off when he went to the Ravens. That's like a slap in the face.

It's a shame he didn't get a longer chance to coach that secondary out in Oakland but if he lands the job with the Bungals he'll make them better.

I kind of hope he does get the job with Cincy, I'd love to have him come to Heinz Field every year so Wallace, Sanders, and Brown and smoke his boys..LOL

Can't blame Woodson for coaching somewhere else if was never offered an opportunity to work in Pittsburgh.
