This is a developing story and may not be fact as yet. CBS and other major news outlets reporting this and retracting statements at the same time About an hour and half ago.

http://floppingout.com/ CBS false reporting. Please remove this thread. My apologies. Be careful what you see, hear and believe. Me too.

Yeah it's been all over twitter tonight, first he passed then he didn't. As of 30 minutes ago tonight it's still not confirmed. Either way it appears to be coming soon unfortunately.

It wasn't true. A student run blog Onward State (http://www.onwardstate.com) put out an erroneous report of Paterno's death and CBSSports.com ran with it. They never mentioned the original source in their reports but when it was proven to be wrong, CBSSports quickly added where they got the news from.

Onward State's managing editor stepped down immediately.

National columnist Jason Whitlock says this editor Devon Edwards has the integrity to be an awesome journalist. Pretty sure an awesome journalist gets the story right. Especially one as emotional as reporting the death of a college football icon.

Get ready for all the hippocratic press accolades etc. when a few months ago this man was lower than ... He did make some big mistakes but, the University was pushin it under the rug and in my opinion continues to do so.

Personally, I think there is plenty of blame to go around...its a sad ending statement for a remarkable life...I prefer to think of him as he was during his best years on the field.

It bugs me much that when i hear talk or reports of his health and him passing they always got to bring up that pathetic garbage of the crime he was told about. They make it seem like he was the one who committed the act. It makes me sick that they still bring it up even in the face of his passing. They got no respect for Joe or his family. It's very saddening. I'm not a Penn st fan but i deeply feel for him and his family. He did so much for the school and is the most winningest coach. Give Joe some respect and let him rest in piece. Too bad it had to go down like this. You will be missed Joe. Always.

Amazing how much this guy meant to people all over the world. Being here in PA we know he's one of the most influential people in this states history. Listening to all the talk radio shows the perspective and stories people tell is amazing.

I think I'll remember him for the good things. For all the doubters of PSU ever getting back to where it once was. Don't bet the house on it. The core up there is central pennsylvania.

Sounds like those morons that protest funerals never showed up at State College to protest. I also heard there was a wall of students and other people around the ceremony just in case.
