Dejan from the Trib pointed this out and it bears some opinions from the Steeler Nation.

>> This has nothing to do with anything, but am I the only one put off by Maurkice Pouncey aggressively peddling — through Twitter and Facebook — T-shirts commemorating (http://www.bigmanswagg.com/Shop.html) his Pro Bowl selection while his team was, you know, fighting for its life without him?
He even did it within an hour of the conclusion of the game last night, including a racial slur as part of one of his tweets. More than a few tweeters called him out on it, and he came back viciously and vulgarly.
Link to Pouncey's Twitter @ProBowler53 (https://twitter.com/Probowler53)

In case you don't get to see them before they get pushed down, here are some of them from tonight.

By "I play for the Steelers" did he mean "I play for the Steelers half the time and the other half I'm sitting on the bench"...

Playing half the time is giving him way too much credit. Let glass ankles peddle his swag, he might need the money lol

HAHAHHA. Pouncey is the best. He's the softest player in the leauge and finds a reason to talk ****. Gotta love the guy (sarcasm). He's the ONLY Steeler I didn't vote for the Pro Bowl. Can you say "over rated?" This guy is a joke.....and SOFT!

Shows a lack of class going off on fans like this.......

Even if they are commenting like a bunch of tools and DESERVE it (sometimes)

Obviously these ********s were bothering him, I don't see the big deal. What did they say to him?

At worst it was unprofessional and immature. Something he should, and will, probably learn from.

A professional athlete should never use social media to off on a disgruntled fan right after an emotional loss.

I think the NFL should ban players from twitter ( Their quick to ban everything else ) it brings out the a$$hole in people.

I haven't checked his timeline throughly yet but I believe he was starting to peddle his wares to fans just after the game was done. That combined with the snotty attitude would be enough to turn some fans off.

People will forget about it though after awhile.

Twitter = Stupid!

Twitter should come w/ an owners manual for players!

MP was pushing the shirts well before the game on Twitter. I have no problem with people calling him out. If he were out for the season, then maybe I would let it fly but the dude may have been playing next week had we won. Time to grow up a little MP.

He's like 22 years old. He's clearly showing some immaturity but people love to blow this **** out of proportion.

You dont reply back to fans the way he did. He was better not saying anything at all.

He posted up an apology on Twitter this morning, everybody seems to have forgotten it and forgiven him.

He's young, he needs to blow off steam, it happens.

Pouncey cant sit there and be making comments such as Im rich and have an awesome life and basically just talking down to people. I dont have too much of a problem with a lot of the other stuff he said since he was upset, but for himt to say Im rich and have an awesome life was totally out of line...

He lost it, we all have at some point. Everyone says something in the heat of the moment that they end up regretting later. He apologized so its a dead issue right now to me. There's far bigger things to worry about with this team than pouncey acting like an idiot on twitter

:clap::clap:Thank u he's far from overrated and soft, i would like to see any one work, play with a high ankle sprain they are not easy to get over i know from experience and i don't play professional sports, why is it ok for fans to say whatever they feel then get mad when a person replies with what they feel?:duh: these fans need to grow up, most people would do the same thing if they played professional sports stop judging people all the time...SMH:evilshake:

So that's really what's this is about huh? him being RICH, well maybe people need to stop saying hurtful things to him, it works both ways...

No, it doesn't work both ways really at all. Nobody cares what some average Joe on Twitter says, nor do they care if people care what they say. Everyone is going to look at Pouncey's comments to his own fans and be turned off and he should care about that. You think every time someone posts a negative comment about some celebrity they respond and call them a loser, and say that their life sucks? No..because A. it's not worth it and B. it makes them look like *******s.

I don't follow too many players on Twitter because it's usually a bunch of incoherent rambling, poor grammar, and stupid RT's of tweets I could care less about.

93.7 The Fan actually has a fun segment where the announcer Jim Colony reads athletes tweets.

Most of these guys aren't too bright.

No excuse to ever go off on a fan who supports your team. I don't care WHAT they say to you. You are a professional athlete and are paid quite well to play the game and deal with criticism from the fans and the media.

What a jagoff...
