The Pittsburgh Steelers worked out three players this week, according to a league source.
They auditioned defensive back Lewis Baker, linebacker Jerrell Freeman and cornerback Walter McFadden.
McFadden is a former Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders player who was drafted in the fifth round last year by the Raiders.
He was released during the Raiders' final major roster cutdown this summer.
McFadden registered 87 career tackles at Auburn and intercepted nine passes, returning two for touchdowns.
