View Full Version : Observations from tonight

Four turnovers by Ben will lose the game just about every time.

Offense moved ball well and then drives would die by the turnover.

Bad clock management at end of first half cost Steelers some possible points.

DB's played way too far off the Niners receivers.

Pass rush was just about non existent.

No turnovers by our D. well unless you count the one on the fumbled punt but that got wiped out by a BS call.

Andy Lee was the MVP of this game. Steelers having to play on a long field with a gimpy Ben was an easy win for the Niners.

Suisham made a 51 yarder but then misses from 47 or so. As BRC has said, I have no faith in him making a clutch kick in the playoffs.

Did Hines Ward play tonight?

Did Jason Worilds play tonight?

Did James Farrior play tonight?

I'm not going to blame the refs in this game though that kick catch interference call cost the Steelers the ball in prime scoring position, not to mention some much needed momentum.

The leaping call against Timmons cost the Steelers another 4 points.

Damn frustrating to watch the Steelers absolutely **** the bed after the wonderful gift they got from the Chargers.

Bad clock management, too much cushion, no pass rush, bad turnover differential.

Yep, sounds like our Steelers.

The turnovers were just incredible, a minus 4 for the night in such a big game? Can you pin them all on Ben? No but I would say you can pin 3 of them on him. The only one you might not be able to hang on his shoulders was the 2nd one that Heath let slip through his fingers.

Just inexcusable to try and force that ball so often, especially in the redzone. The one where Wallace was the target, Ben has to see the defensive back making a break on the ball as much as Wallace needs to feel that pressure and come back a step to try and grab it.

There was a blatant clip on that screen play they ran also, not sure which one of our DBs it was on but I don't know how they missed it.

The whining of the coach on the first FG ,led to the penalty on that last one.Once a harbaugh always a Harbaugh...

What pissed me off more than anything is the ESPN commentator who said the Tomlin lost THREE times to a Haurbough, and if he didn't the Steelers would be at 13-1 same as Green Bay.

And why didn't they use Ward tonight? Wallace couldn't catch anything!!!!!

Only an *******, errr Harbaugh, would challenge the spot of an interception when his team is up 20-3 late in the game.

This team clearly missed Pouncey and James Harrison.

Hit the nail on the head here, when Wallace actually goes up to fight for a catch ,ala Megatron, and starta coming down with it ,then he can be considered one of the elite recievers!! Seems like he has to be wide open to catch the bombs, maybe cause he is flying that he can't stop and fight but he needs to be able to do that.

:smh: I haven't given up on anyone. However the Steelers have not lived up to their full potential this season and it's a shame that the reason for that is things that could easily be prevented.

Remember we haven't had our full team on the field in a long time. Rest up for the playoffs then make a run.
