Pouncey has had ankle issues since preseason. He's been intermittently in and out of the lineup since the Falcon's preseason game when he got rolled up near the goal line. Now tonight he gets it rolled up on again and goes out of the game near half time and doesn't return.

His being out not only affects the Center position but it forces Legursky to abandon his post at Left Guard which has a snow ball affect on the line. This is something that is has been an issue all year and will continue to be an issue. Maurkice admitted as much earlier in the year. He's just going to have to fight through it; but if he doesn't come back for the 49ers game, Ben is in serious trouble. We can only hope these next 11 days will be enough to get him back at Center.

He was playing his heart out and refused to come off the field. In fact the timeout shortly before halftime was called partly due because Kemoeatu came onto the field but Pouncey wouldn't leave. The dude has got guts and a ton of heart not wanting to let his teammates down.

DUDE! I have thought for weeks now.....Pouncey is SOFT! Dude hasn't finished a game all year it seems. I'm tired of his excuses. He ain't that good.

I thought Pouncey had a chance to be another great center, but I'm starting to have some doubts. I can't remember the last time he finished a game. Tonight he removes himself after walking off with an ankle?! Ben rubs a little dirt on it and is back to start the second half. Hmmmm? Also, what would have happened if Mike Webster or D. Dawson tells coach he can't go because of a stomach ache. How would that have gone over with Noll? Dude is soft and is NOT in the mold of Dawson, Hartings, and certainly not Webster. I don't remember Dawson or Webster even missing a play. This guy can't finish a half of football!

Do you also think Lamarr Woodley is soft?

Trotting back to pass or handoff, is a lot less stressful on an ankle than having to anchor on it to hold back a 300lb+ lineman, . . . . but I guess you know that?

MoPo has a gimpy ankle, he keeps getting it injured, I hope he can eventually over come it and have a little better luck, to me he was very eager to stay in the game, but just simply couldn't carry on.

@jimwexell: Looked like Pouncey hurt an ankle, Kemo sent into game, but Pouncey wouldn't come out. Limped to line of scrimmage before timeout.

If not coming out when the coach tries subbing you, and limping to the line of scrimmage is soft, then yeah, he's soft....

Losing 12 lbs is more than a stomach ache. He didnt finish the game last week, because we were killing the Bengals. Pouncey is anything but soft. I just did a quick search, but Dawson didnt play every game.

we had to call a timeout to get him off the field! And he is soft??? Tying a thread from the comfort of your own couch, calling someone soft, is soft

If you ever had a high ankle sprain you wouldn't call someone soft, what Ben did was unnatural. Pouncy has this problem since last year and it just don't seem to heal.

Hopefully he can come back healthy at some point in the season. A high ankle sprain is no laughing matter (remember when Timmons had his?).

I don't think anyone on this site proclaims to be a pro football player. Am I soft compared to these guys.....of course! But Pouncey is not officially soft.
