I really dislike this guy. Why did we give him the ball 4 times? Why is it Redman can gain positive yardage and Mendenhall can't?

Rashard drives me nuts....Against a tougher defense last week in the Bengals he runs tough and scores two TD's in the red zone.......this week stuffed 4 times....lol

Well don't blame Mendenhall for that horrendous playcalling on the goal line. He should have never been given the ball 4 times.

I agree with that! BUT on the goalline shouldnt u run lower. He ran high and got stood up each time, dont get me wrong the O-line didnt help, I guarantee you edman would have ran low!:imho:

Everyone keeps saying what a good back Mendenhall is, sorry at best he'd have a hard time to reach average. A good back is consistent Mendy is not, even when they're stoned walled you can see the the effort and drive in a good back.

The way he carries the ball drives me crazy after 3 years in the league he still doesn't have a clue. he has the talent but no heart. if only we could give him Redman's desire he would be special.

There is no way you can justify blaming Mendenhall at all for those plays on the goal line. I've never seen an offensive line get blown up four straight plays like last night. I watched each of those 4 downs probably 5 times after the game and the blame falls completely on the line. Do you really expect Rashard to run over 4 guys to get in the endzone? I'm 100% confident that if Pouncey was in there, there would've been 6 points added to the scoreboard. Everyone is always bitching about redman at the goal line but seem to forget that most of Mendenhall's 13 TDs last year came from the goal line. Everyone bitches about Mendy's dancing and how he's not all "smashmouth", but when he's at the goal line, there's no dancing. He finds a hole and goes forward. It's the lines responsibility to create those holes. I get that Mendenhall isn't Bettis, but all the hate is a bit ridiculous. The man ran HARD after Ben went down and had a very solid game. Before that goal line stand he had 12 carries for 75 yards. That's over 6 a carry.

I'll agree with you on the last 2 sentences...Mendy did run hard after Ben got hurt but why do you have to put a fire under that guy's arse to get him to run hard...Redman runs hard everytime...95% of the time he will get the yards and then some!

The man had like 4 carries before Ben went down lol. He's averaging like 12 carries a game. That's not going to cut it.

I thought Mendy realized this was his game to win after Ben came back out, he looked like a completely different RB. I don't blame him for not getting after 4 tries I blame BA, that **** was lame...

Ya running the same 4 plays usually isn't a good idea. BA is definitely a complete f*ck.

Rashard does what he does; one series he's absolutely running his tail off, dragging defenders and hitting the hole with authority. The next series he's dancing around contemplating the meaning of life before he decides to run.

You can't blame him for the those 4 straight runs; the offensive line got no push at all and Arians choose to run at the exact same spot every time. You can blame Ben for the audible out of the pass play on 3rd down if you want and you'd be right.

In most situations you figure Ben is going to roll out there or atleast try and throw a fade to Wallace for example or find Heath in the back of the endzone. Given the fact that Ben couldn't scramble the Browns just crashed the middle of the line with everything they had. In that situation why not let a TE like Saunders or maybe a Tackle eligible sneak outside for an easy TD pass.

The problem with Mendnehall is what we always say about him. In the end he still doesn't run with his head down, he never does with any consistentcy. It's a star driven league and Tomlin wants to leave him in to let him get the TD. It is what it is, we've seen this time after time after time.

You're short yardage specialist who is money literally 99-100 times out of hundred yet you refuse to put him in on situations inside the redzone to get a score.

The offensive line did very little at the goal line. At best, they hold their ground. Rarely if ever do they blow the defense back. I don't blame that all on Mendenhall.

I dont know what in the blue hell Tomlin was thinking not using Redman at least 1 time from inside the 1 yard line seeing how well he pushes the pile and keeps his legs moving. It was an insanely stupid stupid move on the part of BA and Tomlin not going to Redman in that situation and it almost costs them the game...

Yeah, for once I can't really bitch around Mendenhall. He was the reason the offense didn't come to a complete stand still after Ben was hurt. Like I said, you can't blame him for inept playcalling and the offensive line not getting any push. He's not Jerome Bettis. He's not gonna push the pile to get that extra yard. Would you send Darren Sproles in to run up the gut at a goal line situation? No.

Why do the packers use Raji at that point?

We should use Johnson, Redman.... Legs, Redman.

How about McClendon, Redman.

The Browns won the tug of war, bottom line. Nothing the RB can do when there are 3 guys in the hole waiting for you. The O-line got destroyed in those 4 plays. Had Ben not been injured, they might have rolled out or did some PA there. Even before the 4th down try, I was screaming take the points. But Tomlin allowed himself to caught up in the "pissing contest" and came away with nothing.

Only thing I would have done differently down there was perhaps some form of Wildcat or something similar.

Whatever, I stand behind Mendy and will. He ran hard last night and largely because of him in the 2nd half, the Steelers were able to kill the clock and preserve the win.

Redman would be the better option at the goaline, I have no doubt about that whatsover.

I hope this team learned something after watching that game. If you don't get a good push the first time on that play, don't run it to the same spot again with the same personnel. The 49ers will be watching for the Steelers to go into that look and if Arians gets it into his head to try it again it's going to be trouble.
