Yeah I noticed he had a solid game also! Great to see since we are getting ancient on the D line

he was making magic out there

He looked solid as did McClendon who was actually getting off of blocks. Where did Hood go? It seemed like there were more than a few snaps where he wasn't on the field last night.

We've been seeing flashes of what Heyward is going to be able to do in the future. You have to love his motor and his raw ability. Once he gets a firm grasp of the defense and playing the NFL the dude is going to be a beast.
I was pleased with McLendon as well, for the smallest of the 3 NT on the roster he is strong as an ox and able to get off blocks like you all mentioned. If he keeps this up he's going to keep Hoke off the gameday roster and the fight for the starting job next year will be fun to watch.

Casey Hampton in his prime was the rare combo of girth strenghth and speed Mclendon has strength and speed i liken him to harrison .Cam Heyward maybe the next Joe Greene

Great play from the first rounder. This kid has the potential to be scary good.

If Cam Heyward turned out to be the next Joe Green I don't think anyone would complain one bit but only time will tell if he will ever be that legendary of a player.
I agree guys like Hampton are somewhat of a phenom. They are so big, strong, but able to move that mass around enough to fully occupy 2 blockers. You don't see them much these days but whoever the Steelers chose to fill that role it will be big shoes to occupy.

I'm actually pretty excited for a lot of our young guys. You always want a good mix of vets and youth on your team, but a lot of the young guys are starting to push for the vets job. Next season is going to be interesting to see how many finally getting the start over some of the long time vets.
I actually give Tomlin props this season for making changes to the starters and rotation of players this year. Hopefully this is a trend he continues.
