Antonio Brown is quickly becoming the go to guy for the Steelers on 3rd down. That used to be Hines Wards' role but with Ward missing time and the young guys stepping up, it's paying dividends.

He's not afraid to go up and make the catch in traffic, or coming across the middle knowing he's going to get blasted. His fearless attitude and sure hands are making him yet another go to guy for Ben when you have to move the sticks. Heath Miller is still a huge part of that arsenal and is no doubt needed going forward but you have to love with Brown is doing.

Antonio Brown: 5 catches for 86 yds. He had a huge game today and came through on big play after big play.

I disagree...He's becoming an every down target.

No doubt in my mind Wallace, Sanders and Brown are all better targets than Ward right now. Add in Heath Miller and Jerricho Cotchery, and you have to wonder if Ward even has a place on this team next year. I love our receiving corps, now lets just bolster the line so Ben has all day to find these weapons downfield!

No doubt about it, he's a threat on any down at any point in the game. His route running is worlds better than it was even in the beginning of the season. Working with Ward for the last year and half since he's been in the league has really helped too. There's no better teacher than a legend like Hines.

I still just can't get over the speed that the Steelers have at the receiver position now. Wallace, Brown, and Sanders are all blazingly fast and sure handed. When's the last time you've seen that on the Steelers?

I wonder if there's anyone on these forums still saying Sanders is better?

that my be my favorite quality of his, he gets so fired up out there.

hes going to be so good, seriously ward serves no purpose anymore, like ive said for weeks cotchery is everything ward was 5-6 years ago and as a 3rd/4th WR can outproduce ward even if we force fed him the #2 spot

A.B. is beasting it up this year, E.S. was beasting it up last year until he got hurt in the SuperBowl, and he has been plagued by injuries this year, Overall i am pleased with the depth of receivers and TE's we have, it looks like this will be Hines last year, i hope we win the SuperBowl this year so he and A.S. and Farrior can go out on top! that would be a great ending for em, they have been great warriors who have put in mad work for us:tt02:

Dale Lolley pointed out today on Twitter that Steelers second year wide receiver Antonio Brown leads the NFL in catches over the last 4 weeks with 26. I double checked the numbers and it is indeed a true stat. Brown has been targeted 40 times in the last 4 games and has caught 65% of them for 364 yards.

Catches are fine and dandy, but perhaps an even greater stat is that 22 of the 26 balls he has caught have resulted in a first down or a touchdown. That is 85% of balls caught producing more than just a catch. He is averaging 14 yards per catch over that span and 9.1 yards per target in addition.

He just may be the best WR on the roster right now.

Perhaps that Ravens DB (his name escapes me:thinking:) knew what he was talking about. :tt02:

I dont want to take away from Brown's talent or work ethic, but if you watch, he is getting all these catches because defenses are completely focused on Wallace and not letting him get open deep or even in the middle of the field because of his speed. I think Brown is a really good receiver, but its the combination of Wallace and Brown that makes him better. Also, Tomlin said Brown might be the hardest working player on the team, you gotta love that.

If defenses werent paying so much attention to Wallace, Brown would just be a decent receiver, but with Wallace on the field, Brown is taking advantage of the situation and looks better than he would without Wallace.

No, that's not what I meant. You said that "I think Brown is a really good receiver, but its Wallace and Brown that makes him better." I guess that sentence should read read "...its Wallace that makes him better."

I think the threat of Wallace being on the field does open things up for Brown, but not all the time. IMO, Brown is a better route runner. Wallace is better at running "go routes", but Brown is better in other areas, and to me, has better hands, and is more clutch.

not sure ill take ladarius webbs word for it, but hes a monster...a mini monster, not the best on the roster but thats not a bad thing.

he does **** up a lot for how clutch hes been, you see ben get frustrated when hes not where hes supposed to be
