This guy is just too inconsistant. Need to get another kicker. If he nails that fg. There is no sweat at the end of that game.

Yeah, I agree. I think they should consider drafting a kicker in the later rounds, like they did with Sepulveda.

There is a reason he is a journeyman kicker.

Like I said in other threads, this guy makes me nervous beyond 30 yards.
I wouldn't object to trying out some different kickers. I'd hate to lose
a close game because of a unstable kicker. It could have happened today.

I am all for bringing somebody in, but I think whatever we do this year, it needs to be Shaun's last year as a Steeler.

We draft one next year.

two major mistakes by ben n co. puts swooshy right in the middle of you gotta make this category and he shanks the important one. fortunately the rest of the team recovered and saved his ***. i like the guy as a guy. but, jees us make me nervous. 3pts is 3pts.

Guys the problem is Tomlin here, you know you have a kicker that is 40 max outdoors. 4th and 3 down there you fn go for it!!

However, the cheatriots kicker also choked the chicken too. Thanks.

I've lost almost all my confidence in the guy. I have a bad feeling that he is going to cost us a few games, hopefully it's not in the Playoffs.

EFF him... with the way our defense played today we should of went for it on 4th and 3, i have no more confidence in him!

People on the Steelers I'm starting to get sick of:

Suisham
Kemo

...that's pretty much it.

I've said it a million times and I'll say it again. I think Sweezy may be the only kicker in the entire NFL that cannot get it atleast into the endzone on every kickoff. Drives me insane.

Funny how we were all loving him and giving him props at the beginning. Now look.

Oh I was absolutely in love with him when he got to Pittsburgh. It was refreshing to see an athlete that was so happy to be playing. I still love his personality, not so fond of his leg.

A kicker upgrade is definitely needed next year. We should just draft the best kicker in college and go with him. Same as the Eagles did this year.

I agree. If/when we make it to the playoffs I'm not sure I want to depend on him.

i was texting my buddy during the game and when he lined up for that 40 yarder, i texted, "no way he makes this". he just cannot be counted on from that distance.

but what was that play call on 3rd and 3?

I'm with the rest of you guys on Suisham. I don't trust him past about 25-30 yards and I'll take it one step further, I have less confidence in him than I did Reed at the time of his release. I honestly think we're no better off.

Perhaps I'm giving him TOO much credit, but anything outside 40 and I cringe. You just have to have a guy that can make those or you aren't going any where in the playoffs.

Like I said the coaches make the call to send him in, he's missed too many from that distance it's time to go for it in those ranges..

All I have to say is that I hope the team never needs a mid- to long-range field goal to tie or win in a close game.

Nope. Past few weeks I've really liked the offensive playcalling. Maybe if he starts sucking again I'll get sick of him.

Beyond 40, I usually don't watch because I get too aggrivated. He started out great last year, but has come down to earth a bit. . .This will have to be addressed if the Steelers are going to make a run.

With Suisham you never know what you're gonna get. He may hit a 48 yarder, but miss a 22 yarder,

If the Steelers draft a kicker, I like Notre Dame's kicker David Ruffer...nevermind I'm a HUGE ND fan!!

As for Suisham, I don't have much faith in him either, but he's our kicker for the rest of the season. There's a reason the kickers available, are available.

Haha same here. I live in SB, so Notre Dame is a given. No where near my obsession with the Steelers, but I watch every ND game. I would love to see them pick up Manti Te'o, and see him in the middle with Timmons.

Id rather see Sepulveda drop kick the field goals.

My brother ( cleveland sux) jokingly said this during the game and it was tragically hysterical.

You used to see the same threads about Jeff Reed when he was here. It's hard to be a kicker guys and great ones are very hard to come by. Even Vinatieri and Crosby choke from time to time.

Great ones are hard to come by? Well in Suisham's case I guess average ones are hard to come by also

It's not that he misses, but that he misses some really huge kicks. This past weekend, the kick he missed would have iced the game, and although we won, the ball wound up in Brady's hands, down by only 6 with time running out. That's never a good combination.

Exactly. A kicker needs to deliver in high pressure situations and it feels like Suisham is not going to be that guy this year. I just hope that he can get his kicking together before it costs this team a game.

But he also just misses, too.
