Steelers guard Chris Kemoeatu was fined $25,000 by the NFL today for two separate penalties against the Arizona Cardinals.

Kemoeatu was fined $10,000 for a face mask on defensive lineman Darnell Dockett and $15,000 for a late hit on linebacker Paris Lenon.

The Steelers have now been fined a reported $120,000 this year with four offensive linemen receiving fines -- Kemoeatu, Ramon Foster ($15,000), Doug Legursky ($10,000) and Maurkice Pouncey ($7,500).

Kemoeatu was fined three times last year totaling $17,500 inlcuding twice for late hits in the AFC Championship game against the N.Y. Jets.

Isn't it funny, the fines this year have come at the expense of the offensive lineman; how often does that happen this much to the Steelers?

Will this maybe get Kemo to chill on the stupid penalties? I would probably say no, he's been doing this type of crap for years. For every great pulling play or monster road grading block you see get nailed for a personal foul. Perhaps not quite to that extent but you all know we mean by that.

If he pulls that kind of stuff this Sunday and the Steelers lose out on a chance for a big first down or worse yet a Touchdown, it could be a disaster.

Good. Maybe that will stop him from being an idiot.

When I read that article I still found it hard to believe that so many fines have come by way of the line. A group that's been under the radar for so long now, except when they have a bad game..which is pretty often but still. These guys are playing hard, playing tough, fighting for every play. They just have to be smart about it. I can't hold a penalty against Pouncey or Foster against them too much, they rarely do that. However Kemo though, just play the game dude. We know you're tough just think before you dive head first into a pile!

He's a big, dumb tub of goo.

They should have forced him to eat nothing but veggies for the next two weeks. He'd never do that again.

the steelers should fine him 25k as well. if he gets fined by the league the steelers should match the fine. 50k lighter in the wallet might make him use that lump that's 3 feet above his ***!

Just to play devil's advocate for a minute; They figured they were ok at Guard with Kemo there. He makes enough plays especially in the running game that warrant keeping him around. As for Flo and Max, cutting both of them was not the brightest move they've ever done I'll give you that. Flozell wasn't going to take any less to play I would imagine but if they pressed Starks enough he might have redone his deal.

In the end it worked out, they got Starks back for a cheap price; although at a cost with starting out so slow.
