Give credit to offensive coordinator Bruce Arians on the Steelers' first possession of the game. He called for a couple of short passes to get Ben Roethlisberger going, and Arians' plays sometimes work when the Steelers actually, you know, execute. A swing pass to Antonio Brown netted 16 yards as the second-year man picked up several key blocks. The Steelers later fooled the Cardinals on Roethlisberger's 12-yard touchdown pass to Heath Miller when a blown coverage by outside linebacker Clark Haggans left Miller wide open.

For some reason, the Cardinals consistently let their safeties sag back in coverage on passing downs, leaving their corners in one-on-one situations against speedsters Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown. As a result, Roethlisberger carved them up with short-to-intermediate throws. If Roethlisberger had been sharper, he would have taken complete advantage of safeties Adrian Wilson and Rashad Johnson biting on play fakes or pump fakes. He missed both Brown and Emmanuel Sanders, who were open several times deep in the Arizona secondary.

Yes, it was great to see them get going early with short passes to help Ben avoid the flood of pressure that was coming right up the middle. They decided to however, in the second half, go completely to sleep for a couple series which as we know can't happen next weekend against the Patriots.

Time after time we've seen the short passing game work great, and you know the Patriots will use it all day long next Sunday. Will we finally start seeing this used all the time now?

The offense displayed it's passing potential , Ben was in the empty backfield 5 receiver set allday long . He looked like hudini on a number of plays . I really like what I seen vs the Cards .

Mendenhall ran around the perimeter for some good gains and Redman plowed full speed ahead pretty well too.

Ben got the ball to Heath Miller for a TD and for some 1st downs too.

Ben got the ball to Brown for some first downs and Brown one again showed his good hands .

I give the offense a A+ today good job Arians !!!!!!!!

Don't worry. Next week we'll start the game with three straight 40+ yard pass tries to Mike Wallace.
